We are excited to reopen our restaurant to all of our guests and are cautiously abiding by the SCRLA to ensure that we are taking care of not only our guests but as well as our staff safely! We have chosen to operate at smaller capacity and do ask that you make a reservation in order to secure a table for dining.

Overall experience very nice. Food was very good and service attentive. However - found out when I received the bill I was charged for EACH soda I ordered! If it were in cans or bottles I could understand the charges but out of a fountain (with each glass 1/2 full of ice) I was very upset at this charge! That made my 5 star review a 4 star - due to the cheap nature of the charge! Update: I was contacted by 39 Rue de Jean and informed that the soda charge was in ERROR! They agreed to refund the charges and thanked me for bringing this issue to their attention! I very much appreciated being contacted as a follow up. Because of their review - I do believe this establishment does indeed rate 5 stars!! As originally stated - except for this one issue this restaurant was very nice!

Service was hectic for the night. It was a packed out Saturday night. Noise level for talking was okay, however it appears there is a dance club above the restaurant and the constant sound of heavy bass dance music ruined the ambiance for me. Ordered a glass of white wine and was brought a red. Server corrected it right away. My wife ordered the coq au vin. The sauce was not a flavorful coq au vin as it should be. Fairly bland. I ordered the Porter House Lamb chops. Again, could have had more flavor, though they were cooked the way I asked them to be cooked.

Our experience was adequate. We had the filets which weren't great for the price of $45 ea, a bit fatty. The restaurant was very busy, service was good. Location was convenient for walking around town. The escargot was amazing!
