   It was a day after valentine's day. The restaurant looked 70% full when we arrived. The server was cheerful and attentive, and the food was, as always, fantastic. I had ahi tuna tartar with beets salad. The tuna was fantastic - perfect balance of ingredients, and arugula created fabulous taste. The salad could have used a tad more vinegar but many people would have been ok. Espresso martini was great for the fun, casual atmosphere. Chef Pasquale was behind the counter, and that is always one way to hit the high note of always solid dining experience.

   My boyfriend ordered the Lobster Ravioli for Valentine’s Day and it did not agree with him. At first we thought it was just him not liking it, but then we looked over at the table beside us and they also pushed their 3 - $26 Lobster Raviolis to the side. We had to stop at another restaurant so he could get something that he could eat. I had the Cavatelli Bolognese which seemed as though the pasta was slightly undercooked, but the sauce was very good.

   For the price, the quality just isn’t there. Drinks had small pours and expensive. $7 for a Shirley temple for my kids, that was filled 80-85%?! Small menu that hasn’t changed in ages. Chicken special was rubbery - clearly made earlier in the day and reheated. Salad was good though, but can’t justify going back.

   Food and cocktails were excellent. Ambience was good except our table was right next to the kitchen and kitchen's service bar. Service was OK but not as attentive as expected for a restaurant of this caliber.

   food was good as usual, only complaint was they changed their bread and butter. My kid loved the fresh salted bread and butter compared to the rosemary bread and plain butter served yesterday.

   Another great time at Amore. Chef Pasquale was, as most times, behind the counter. The smoked salmon with exquisite sauce was one of the best ways to enjoy the smoked salmon. The light lemon vinegaret was absolutely perfect. On the light side, my margarita pizza was thin crust - the best crust you can have - and it was hard to stop. Definitely we will be back!

    Dinner for 2 on a Friday night at Amore was excellent. Our server Jordyn took very good care of us throughout our time at Amore. Started with an Italian Old Fashioned and the Fried Calamari, both were perfect. It's real easy to screw up calamari and these were very delicate and served with greens and deep fried Peppadews. We chose the Chicken Cutlet and Herbed Risotto special, again excellent. We live in downtown Rochester and Amore is just a 5 minute drive which is great, especially during the winter. Highly recommended.
