Award winning Chef Carlo Cavallo’s upscale gastropub concept, B&V Whiskey Bar & Grille is located in the Historic Sonoma Creamery building across the street from the Old Mission in the Sonoma Plaza. We are Sonoma Plaza's only brew pub, whiskey bar. B&V's menu format is wine country inspired with farm to table elements, Italian and French influences, and good old fashion steak house. Chef Carlo Cavallo has won best beef in America, and been on Food Networks Guy Fieri show.

We have multiple offerings for Private Dining, Rehearsal dinner, corporate parties, birthdays, bachelorette & bachelor parties, and much more . We have a 100 person dining room with a 25 seat bar. We also have a 50 seat dining area with an 8 seat private bar. Each room has its own HD TV for slideshows or video presentations.

We were greeted warmly by the host and were escorted to the booth that I had requested in my reservation. We started out with their Ahi Poke Martini and Beet Salad to share at the table. For our entree, we shared the Florentina Steak. It was amazing. The service, fresh and well prepared food are always consistent ---- and keep brining us back. Thank you!

The risotto was amazing! The shrimp and zucchini fresh and rice creamy with just the right seasoning. So perfect on a cold night. And we always ask to be seated in “T’s” section for outstanding service!

The bolognese needed more meat sauce for the dish to make a real statement, but the codi burger was definitely satisfying.

The food runs the gamut from a great burger to a beautifully presented and delicious fish dish and house made pasta dishes with lots of other choices in between. Attentive servers and helpers. We really enjoy this friendly restaurant on the Square in Sonoma.

We made reservations for dinner after the local parade. The place was packed, which was great to see. We had our favorite waiter and were able to have a nice table to enjoy our dinner. We especially love the martini pokey appetizer, and you can’t go wrong with any of their entrées.

This is basically just a neighborhood bar in a high tourist area. We had: Homemade Dungeness Crab Ravioli - Skyy Vodka sauce. This was decent & just OK. Codi Burger - Niman Ranch beef, double applewood bacon, double Sonoma Jack, Gloria Ferrer onion rings inside burger their own B&V bbq sauce on a King’s Hawaiian bun with hand cut fries. The fries were really under-seasoned & underwhelming, just really basic & not all that tasty. The burger was so heavy handed on the BBQ sauce (which really wasn't all that good), that it overtook the taste of the burger. We pulled the 2 onion ring off of the burger & ate them separately, & again, just basic, underwhelming, & not really that great. Cocktails: Dirty Cougar - Deep Eddy grapefruit, lemon, St. Germaine. Their menu said this won some "Best Martini" award so I was looking forward to trying it. It was very tart--not sure how much grapefruit they put in there, but this is one sour drink. The photos on the website menu made us think this would be a much better place. When presented to us at our table, the food did not look appetizing & certainly not effort was taken in plating it. Looks like they did their best to make the photos look great, but what you are served will not look the same. Even the photos of the interior restaurant on their website make the place look fancy with white tablecloths & candles on the table -- of course this is shown in the "special events" tab, so that must be my bad for thinking that it would look like this for regular dining. Overall, if you want to sit in a basic bar and have basic food & drinks, go for it.
