Our classic American restaurant builds on the rich history and tradition the Lake Area is known for. We use only the finest, freshest ingredients, coupled with personal service and warm, inviting surroundings. We're happy to bring this dining experience to the Lake of the Ozarks. Baxter's is the perfect place for a business or casual lunch, a special evening out, a family get together after a long day on the Lake, or 'just because.'                                                                                               The restaurant setting is nice and has a great view. The server was slow and often let our drinks sit empty. I ordered the ribeye and although it had good flavor it was rather thinly sliced. I finished my dinner off with a cheaper glass of sweet wine and the server turned his nose up and said I might as well order Boones Farm. I knew exactly what I was ordering so that threw me. Anyway, it was just an okay dinner.

                                                                                              Birthday dinner celebration for my wife. As always, an excellent and colossal shrimp cocktail, a perfectly cooked filet for my wife, and the wonderful sea bass for myself. All were excellent, along with our service and the view! Gooey butter cake for dessert was great! If you’re looking for a great dining experience at the Lake, Baxter’s should be on your list!

                                                                                              Janice our server was not attentive. My husband’s salad & beer was wrong. Not once did she come to our table after salads were delivered to see if everything was ok. She just passed by our table and looked and turned around. If she was attentive she would have noticed then that we never got any bread. When we were done dining my husband told her that they put the wrong dressing on his wedge salad & all she said was “I told them ranch”. Overall our food wasn’t anything to write home about. My fish was overcooked & the vegetables were undercooked for all of us.
