   I reserved a table for 10 (max allowed via the website) with a note to add 3 people. I was contacted by the GM and then again by an additional manager (tall African American man that was working tonight). I confirmed with both managers that I would like to keep my reservation for 10 even if 3 people could not be added and the additional people would sit at another table. When we arrived, the manager on duty first lied like he called me today to tell me they were not accepting walk ins. Then he continued to act as if they couldn’t accommodate my reservation at all cause they weren’t taking walkins and the additional 3 would be considered walk-ins. After about 10 min of going back and forth I finally asked why can’t we keep reservation for 10 and have the additional people sit at the bar which was open with no customers at this time. He agreed and his staff (AT LEAST 8 waiters) stood around us whispering and rolling their eyes. It’s as if they did not want to accommodate us at all and were hoping we would leave. This was the ONLY place my daughter wanted to come for her birthday because she had such a good time last year and they completely ruined the mood and experience for her and her friends. By the time we were seated , another waitress and the manager kept coming by the table visibly counting to make sure only 10 people were there and also made it her point to tell me I couldn’t stand around the table. This was after I had already assured her I was not going to stand around the table. As a mother I was simply trying to ensure all of the TEEN girls I brought with me were ok with ordering before I sat at the bar the rest of the time. One of the waitresses that was standing around watching the initial encounter also ended up at the bar where my sister and I ate until the reservation was done. She had a HORRIBLE attitude everytime we asked for anything and she didn’t even want to serve us. I can assure you that this is the LAST time Benihana will get a dime from me.

   We went two weeks ago and service was not great. We went back yesterday and again there was no waitress for our table. So another waitress stepped in she was not able to work our table my fried sushi till was brought out cold. My drink was not refilled I had to walk to the bar to get it refilled. I looked for a manager and there were none around to help. This was during 4:00pm the managers were in the kitchen. If your short staffed all mangers should be helping no manager came around to see if any tables needed help. Also, my rice that I ordered with my meal was steamed rice and the waitress brought it way after the food was served. So Kate that she brought the to go boxes out and after that brought my rice. I can’t eat my food without my rice. She never asked us if we needed anything. Over the last two years service has really went down at Benihana’s. We get better service at Jin beh in Lewisville

   The teppan communal experience was fun! Customer service was excellent and the New York Strip and Filet Mignon was delicious We really enjoyed lunch

   The food is always delicious, and watching the chef perform is fun. In our group, we had steak, shrimp, scallops, and chicken - all excellent. The Las Colinas location is very noisy since it is one large room with no noise dampening (that I could tell), but it is the most convenient location for our group. I recommend Benihana for any special occasion. Don't forget to sign up for the Chef's Table rewards membership.

   Sushi was below average, scallops were unimpressive, rice was unappealing, and service was poor with only 3 patrons present.

    Overcrowded and late to be sat even with a reservation. Table made for 8 and our party of 6 was crammed into a table of 12. Food was average, service was ok. Will try another hibachi grill next time…
