   Went here to celebrate bday like we have been doing for at least 24 years (not always at this locstion). Was really disappointed in food, service and just overall experience. Food was bland and they now give smaller portions. Sad thing have to pay $7 extra for fried rice and bowl was not even full. Onions were not peeled/cooked properly. Once seated we had to wait for over 1 hrs for cook to come out to start cooking. Not sure if i will continue to come back for any more celebrating. Pricing has gotten ridiculous especially now for portion size.

   Had reservation for 8 pm didn’t get seated until 8:45 pm. Ordered a Las Vegas Roll came out cold had to send it back for a fresh one. Server was not attentive to table did not bring out salad or come back to see if anyone needed anything. Chef came out at 9:30 pm food wasn’t ready until after 10 pm even though we had reservation. One of my worst encounter with Benihana at this location will be a while before I come back.

   We made 5:00 reservations for Christmas Day, showed up a bit early to be able to check in. I am glad we did as we had to circle the parking lot for about 15 minutes before finding somewhere to park. Once we checked in, was told they were running a little behind. About 10 minutes past our reservation time, checked again at the front desk and was told it would probably be another 45 minutes as there were “quite a few tables ahead of us”. Once our table was finally ready - luckily only 30 minutes later, we were squished at a table clearly not meant to fit 9 people (my son couldn’t even move his chair close enough to the table to reach). We had to ask for another chair to accommodate all the people assigned to our table (I had already overheard the wait staff mention they were running out of chairs in the dining room). The food was delicious as usual, but felt like the “show” was definitely rushed. I feel bad for the service staff as they were just trying to keep up. Maybe next time - don’t overbook the restaurant.

   I booked a reservation for dinner for Christmas as I’ve done every time I have dined at Benihana and I have dined with them before on Christmas and on Thanksgiving and this was the worst experience ever. I arrived at 3:55 for my 4:00 reservation and was told “sorry for the inconvenience but it will be about an hour and a half” I have never heard about there being a long wait with a reservation. Then when we finally got seated it was as if we were rushed to get us in and out. I asked what would be done to accommodate the inconvenience only to have $20 taken off our bill. I usually always enjoy having dinner at Benihana but it will probably be a long time before I go back if ever.

   Grossly overbooked. The appointment a waste of effort. 3:30 meant 5:00. The OpenTable process was useless. Benihana management either has no idea of their capability to service or integrity to deal honorably with patrons. Or both. Once seated, it was Christmas Day Benihana quality all the way. It is our fifth year, same day.

   My only real problem was having a reservation and being told there was an hour wait. This is the 2nd year in a row they were an hour behind! Last year the excuse was short on cooks. This year they had no excuse. I just had to wait.

   The chef at our table was great. It seems everyone at the table wanted something a different way and he did a fine job accommodating them. He had a good sense of humor. The food was great. And lots of it. But……we had reservations for 3.00pm. We didn’t get seated until nearly 4:00pm. What’s the point of making a reservation if the restaurant can’t come close to honoring it?

   Christmas Day we had reservations for 2:45 and finally got seated at almost 4:00 Then waited at table for a cook to become available. Did not leave restaurant until 6:00. The food was amazing as always which is why we waited but management needs to do a better job at staffing for the Christmas crowd - or limit the reservations to match the capacity. Waiting for such a long time was not optimal but the food was great and servers were pleasant even though stressed and very busy. I will be back - but not on Christmas Day!
