   We originally made a reservation for 7, but due to an emergency one of our party had to leave, so we came in as a party of 6. We found out after we were seated the other party member was able to come back and have dinner.  I went to the host and requested if there was any way that we could fit the 7th person in since we had just placed our order.  The host went out of his way to make sure that the seventh person in our party was able to be seated able to eat with us and the waitress who was helping get drinks and rice was there at his side to get him everything that he needed.  It was really wonderful and incredible experience and I really appreciate the extra effort of the host and the staff to accommodate our one late guest.  10/10  Thank you so much for making our night!  The food was outstanding as always but the service was really appreciated and off the charts.

   Seated on hibachi table for dinner . There were families with very young children at each table , therefor not a recommendation for those looking for a quiet date night. Chef was friendly, food was good. I ordered the waygu beef as the waitress assured me it was from Japan. I would not recommend spending the additional $ for this cut of beef. It was not worth it. Chewy , very fatty and I was very disappointed . I ordered it med rare , I asked chef to cook a touch more which he did but it did not improve the experience. Otherwise, overall it was okay. Shrimp were good , my husband enjoyed his scallops.

   We ordered a chicken yakisoba and steak teriyaki. Received the bill and got charged for two steak teriyaki. Pointed out the mistake and the server was always in a rush. Server grabbed the receipt after I paid so I didn't get a chance to go over the bill after. Mentioned that my son has egg allergy, the chef used the same spatula for eggs and my son's food. Not allergy friendly. Came home and had some stomach issues after the food.

   Benihana is always a good idea for family or friend time. The Manhasset location is one of my favorites. Great food and service.

   Food is ALWAYS delicious here and I will continue to come back. Only very minor gripe, the last few times I came, the chefs were slightly less entertaining. But again, the food was incredible, so really a non-issue. Guess I just got used to the more showey chefs. My only other complaint, and again, a minor one, was we had an 8:30 reservation last night, but didn't see the chef till about 9:30-9:45. I guess they wanted to fill other seats at the table as it wasn't that busy, but my girlfriend teaches remotely and has a 11pm class, so we were more rushed for time than we had anticipated. But food was done quickly and we managed to get out with just enough time for her to get back. Overall, this has been one of my favorite restaurants pretty much my entire life, and still continues to be. I will continue to return whenever I can. Keep it up!

   The only downfall was at the end, the bill was paid on a credit card and the tip was being given in cash. Our waiter basically said that wasn’t enough of a tip and stood there and wanted more. It was a party of 5 for a Birthday dinner, I feel $45 dollar tip was enough and she just kept standing there saying that the chef also had to get a tip. I told her that tips are suggested BUT not mandatory. Then all of a sudden she wasn’t understanding what I was saying and stood there with the receipt and kept looking at me . I handed her another $20 so all together I gave a tip of $65. The waiter should be demanding additional tips and going back and forth with a customer especially in front of the guest that was there. Also a fishbowl cocktail was ordered and had 80% of ice and it the actual cocktail and it tasted liked juice with ice. Absolutely no liquor. The waiter said that’s how the make it and for additional liquor would be an extra charge. No accommodation no nothing.
