A little bit of Greek heaven in Charm City. We had a wonderful dining experience in this beautiful old brick building. We had a nice romantic table for two and started off with some Kalamata olives, warm focaccia bread and seasoned olive oil. We had the lobster bisque which was very tasty and the Greek Village salad with fresh heirloom tomatoes, peppers, cucumbers and Feta cheese mixed in this superb vinaigrette. It was so fresh and one of the best salads I’ve tasted in quite some time. We had the village pie which was delicious. It reminded me of a quiche made with phyllo dough and a variety of cheeses. It tasted like it had artichokes, spinach and herbs in it-was outstanding. For our entrees, we had the whole European bass (Branzino) and the whole Dover sole. Both were grilled and served in lemon butter sauce. They melted in your mouth. They were served with asparagus and sweet potato mash. For dessert we had the skillet apple tart and the tiramisu-decadent. We both loved everything we tasted at this restaurant. Our server was friendly and attentive. She did a fantastic job and was great with suggestions. Overall, we had great service, amazing food, a beautiful atmosphere-wonderful experience! They also have an extensive wine list. Parking garage is a close walk to restaurant. Definitely recommend and will return. Thank you!

One of Baltimore's premier restaurants is still at the top of its game, after almost 3 decades! A friend and I had another exceptional dinner there recently, catering to our craving for lamb chops, which The Black Olive prepares to perfection. (While the restaurant is particularly known for its outstanding seafood offerings, it gets high marks across the board.) Our appetizers were the superb octopus salad (best I've found in Baltimore), and excellent village pie. Dessert was the perfect ending, a light and luscious tiramisu. We love the charming surroundings and ambiance of the restaurant, and the attentiveness of the personable wait staff is always much appreciated. A well-deserved continuing reputation as one of Baltimore's best!!

Our favorite Greek restaurant in Baltimore, post trip to Greece in Sept. 2023 ! So so good! An upscale restaurant that doesn’t overcharge for wine or meals! The wait staff and overall service are both amazing.

The food was excellent, the service was great, the ambiance was lovely and really just everything about our experience was exceptional. We have eaten here before but it had been a while, it will not be as long before we return! We go to all of the highest end restaurants in town and this was better than most! Highly recommend!!

We hadn’t visited the Black Olive in several years, mostly because we were avoiding downtown Bmore because of the squeegee issues around the city. We’re happy that this appears to be a thing of the past. We enjoyed a wonderful meal last night. We arrived and were seated in the back room. There are 4 or 5 tables in this room. We ordered raw oysters, stuffed calamari, and octopus salad for appetizers. We had a grilled whole snapper and while black sea bass for entrees. We had a bottle of Assyrtiko wine from Santorini. For dessert, we shared baklava ice cream. Everything was well prepared and delicious. The stuffed calamari was a standout. We look forward to returning again soon.
