   Love the a Bohanan’s steak experience. Best in town. Megan was exceptional. Informative, knowledgeable, helpful - made the experience. She was aware of our time constraint and kept us on schedule in a relaxed, enjoyable, memorable experience. Look forward to our return.

   Outstanding service especially from Ryan at the Jazz bar downstairs, impressively talented musicians & a gifted singer; the best I’ve seen perform live this side of New Orleans. Upstairs dining experience is always superb; the food is consistently excellent and the service is consistently superior. However, a stricter enforcement of the dress code would’ve been appreciated as there were several people allowed in the upstairs dining area with T-shirts and backwards hats on at formal dining tables.. overall this restaurant is an absolute must, do not miss for anyone visiting San Antonio, Texas, absolutely will return again!

   We have been eating at Bohanan's since BEFORE it opened, as we were solicited to critique its food and service in preparation for its opening. This "testing/perfecting" went on for many weeks. Frankly, I was amazed that someone new in the restaurant business could afford such preparation, and in the heart of downtown San Antonio. It was exceptional then and has remained such every year since. Bohanan's uses special meats from several first class sources. This isn't "just" Prime meat; it is an astonishing variety of fantastic choices. You might get lost as they explain each source, starting with Akaushi beef, heading into US hybrids, special aging, etc. We had the Porterhouse steak for two, which was from a hybrid Japanese/Angus breed. It was tender and exceptionally well-flavored, and of course cooked and seared to perfection. Notably, the filet and strip portions were removed after cooking and re-seared, giving a unique consistency to every bite. We took home more than half of this huge piece of meat. Wedge salad, "frenched oysters", asparagus and everything else were very good. Wine by the glass (Syrah and Malbec) was very good and reasonably priced. The only "shortcoming" was not getting to see Mark, the owner and chef; we just asked too late. Congratulations Mark; the best steakhouse in San Antonio and probably Texas.

   The service was impeccable; food was absolutely delicious. Dooley was our topnotch server--best in my last several years of eating in upscale restaurants. It's no wonder Bohanan's is rated at the top of all of San Antonio's various lists. We had filet mignon with béarnaise sauce & shared sides of red wine portobello mushrooms & lobster creamed corn. It was very hard to choose! Every side on the menu was tempting. We're going back to make a meal out of just sharing a few sides. It would have been a completely perfect experience except we were seated in a small room next to a party of 5 inebriated loud men who were all talking over each other Their noise was bouncing off the walls. Our server had to lean down next to my ear for me to hear him. I commented about the other table's noise preventing normal conversation in the room. Thankfully, they left after about 30 minutes and the ambiance was peaceful for the rest of our dinner. Isn't there some method for management to discreetly ask a raucous party to tone it down in a beautiful fine dining setting?

    Best steak I have had in San Antonio. Great service that actually felt genuine. Recommend anyone wanting a 5 star night out. I am so disappointed we have missed this experience for 24 years of being in the San Antonio area. See you all again next month for my wife's birthday...we can't wait!
