As the name suggests, Butlers Wharf Chop House Restaurant is just the place if you’re in the mood for something meaty – don’t miss Head Chef Alexandru Sotirs' dry aged grass-fed steaks. Elegant without being stuffy, it’s a relaxed riverside destination where provenance is key, with the likes of Select Butchery, London cured salmon, Jersey Rock Oysters and native lobster. Sit back and enjoy that famous view of Tower Bridge (from the terrace if you’re lucky), you’re in safe hands

I hate to be negative about things but this restaurant is just on another level of bad. It's fairly pricey at this restaurant but I don't mind paying a little bit extra for quality. However, the first issue, they brought out the wrong starters. Fair mistake you might say, but the waiters attitude and look of utter contempt really irked me. Then I was asked what I wanted for my main. I opted for chateaubriand steak. He asked how I'd like it cooked. I tell him, and he interrupts saying it can only be done medium rare. If that was the case, why ask me. I ushered the waiter over several times during my meal, due to the lack of quality. It was dry, tough and tasteless. To this he simply said sorry and walked off. My partner then saw him over the other side of the room pointing at as both with looks of utter disdain on their face. He then had the gaul to come and ask us if we wanted a dessert. I abruptly said for him to just bring the bill. That's when the final joke came. They'd added on 5% to our bill for a tip without asking. My partner noticed this and to be fair, the guy took it off with an angry look. We paid and left and will definitely NEVER be back. Basil Fawlty could have ran rings around the staff at the establishment. Never again.

Food was 10 out of 10 and our waiter was very good; however it took well over one hour for our food to arrive. I know it was Valentine's day; but surely they knew the number of reservations upfront and should be able to plan and coordinate the number to provide a decent service. Also on arrival there were a few of us crowded around waiting to be seated and as there was no queue system/order of service so some people whom arrived after us, got seen/seated down before us and some other couples.

We were there for a special valentine menu. Overall the three mains course wasn’t good, the meat wasn’t hot as should be, starter seemed not fresh.. the service was bad, didn’t give plates for sharing. We didn’t get the service as must be, tables next us received all the service that we needed. I won’t considered to come again.

The service we received was very poor the waitress messed our order up several times we waited nearly 2 hours for our main course which came out cold the waitress was very blunt and made us feel like she didn’t want to be there they even got our dessert wrong there are other restaurants near by that I’ll try next time I wouldn’t be in a hurry to come back based on how we was treated here

A cold, expensive and disappointing experience on Valentines day. Booked the "cosy, warm, heated outside hut", to be met with a cold hut and a broken heater. I read a review from weeks ago which had the same experience and hoped they would have fixed the heater (they replied to this review explaining it was fixed). I had to be persistent in requesting an indoor table as it was bitterly cold outside. After 10 minutes of waiting we were sat inside. Once inside we waited 20 minutes for our orders to be taken. The food took a while to arrive, the main course came disjointed from the sides with 10 minutes of waiting for our sides as the steak cooled off (having already arrived to the table tepid warm, not hot...) An incorrect side was brought to the table, and another was missing. We requested the food to be corrected as it was cold, it was returned to us mildly warmer, perhaps it was put beneath a heat lamp. The head of house was not empathetic or understanding. Whilst waiting for our food to be returned hot, no waiter offered to take drink orders despite our glasses being clearly empty. We tried to get their attention but it was a struggle, eventually we made an order of drinks as they brought out the reheated side dishes bit by bit. The food tasted good, however the best steak when eaten cold is still a cold steak. I explained upon arriving that I had prepaid on booking, the bill arrived without this and had to be corrected. We spotted 2 others who sat waiting for 40 minutes at an empty table. Another table left due to the very long wait for their food, their table remained uncleaned, napkins on floor, untouched food on table for about an hour. Despite it being valentine's day the restaurant was not particularly busy, we obseverved multiple couples leave without having eaten after waiting for many minutes without service. Overall a terrible experience considering the high price, but they gave us a glass of house wine free so that makes it ok?...

Sunday roast was excellent. Would definitely recommend both the beef and chicken. Service was good. Custard on the crumble was not hot which was a shame as otherwise a very good Sunday lunch.
