   Sabrina and Sarah are two of the finest professional servers I have ever met…they went above and beyond to make our night special…the restaurant is blessed to have them on the staff!

   Tonight we dined at Carlo and Johnny to celebrate my husband’s birthday. Jeff Ruby has set a high bar on service and food, and because of this our expectations were high. Our waitstaff was Paul and Evan and they were top notch. Funny without being intrusive, attentive without being in the way. Perfect service. The atmosphere is glamorous at Carlo and Johnny. There’s not a bad seat in the house. Our corner booth was a perfect spot for my husband and I to enjoy each other's company and our time there. We started with bread - it was perfect. That sourdough is wonderful, tangy, chewy perfection. I had the kale salad and my husband had the Freddie. Both salads were excellent. I ordered the steak Diane, my husband had the cowboy steak. Both cooked medium. We added the carrots and fries. The cowboy steak was cooked perfectly. The meat itself wasn’t as “melt in your mouth” as usual, but the flavor was still nice. The steak Diane was overcooked. Thankfully the mushroom sauce was delicate and flavorful. The fries were fine, nothing to write home about. The carrots, sadly, were undercooked. Crunchy to the point of my knife slamming down on my plate as I cut them. I’ve had the carrots numerous times before and they are usually so decadent and soft. I also ordered a kahlua and cream which was expertly made. We took a slice of bitter pie to go and I am hoping the quality will shine in that. This is not the norm for Jeff Ruby’s restaurants, and I hope our next visit is better.

   Delicious! It was our first time eating at C&J, but been to the other Ruby’s. Very enjoyable experience. Will be back.

   Food and service was great as usual. But parking was a little crazy. We had 5:00 reservations and the only parking spots that weren’t filled were valet so we had to use the valet service. When it was time to leave there were a lot of people waiting outside for their cars. The men working were great and trying to get everyone’s cars as fast as they can but it was a kinda crazy.

   Second time eating at Carlo & Johnny's. Reservations went smoothly, very happy with our table and dining room. Our service was fantastic, we were very happy with all of the wait staff, all were friendly and went out of their way to ensure that our experience at the restaurant was top notch. Our side dishes were fantastic as were the deserts. My only complaint would be the steaks, mine was REALLY salty, my fiancés was over-cooked. To be fair, as soon as we brought the over-cooked steak to the attention of our server, she immediately handled the situation, comping an order of drinks, re-cooking a new steak and giving us desert on the house. I don't think they could have realistically done any more to make it right. I didn't say anything about mine, but it was a bit disappointing. All in all, the experience was good. I would be willing to assume that the situation with our steaks was an anomaly, we'll give it another try at some point in the future.

    Our dining experience was more than amazing! Every staff member from the valet to the hostess to the servers to the managers were phenomenal! Andrew and Jeff were our servers for the evening and they were more than amazing! This duo was very attentive, full of personality and met the need of everyone in our party! We definitely look forward to returning in the near future! Thank you for such a wonderful experience!
