Chapter One is an award-winning Modern European restaurant with 3 AA Rosettes in Orpington, Kent. Following a major refurbishment in early 2019, Chapter One has relaunched with a more modern approach, tempting guests with greater variety and quality.

Under the direction of acclaimed chef Andrew McLeish, modern European cooking is available in two formats. In the Restaurant, sophisticated seasonal dishes are served in a refined setting with a weekly changing 3-course Lunch Menu du Jour, a seasonally-inspired 7-course Tasting Menu and an a la carte option. In the more informal Brasserie, a selection of favourites are cooked to perfection with the finest ingredients. The drinks offering is as exciting with an AA Notable Wine List, premium spirits, and cocktails. There is also a private dining room for corporate and private occasions.

It’s always a delight to attend Chapter One for a treat or special occasion. Service is excellent from taking your coat to chatting with the sommelier… highly recommended.

Chapter One is absolutely my favourite restaurant. Everything about it is special. the service the food, the ambiance. However, for many people it would be too expensive and would only be for something very special.

Delightfully relaxed lunchtime experience. Seasonal ingredients included a delicious blood orange pavlova and sorbet. Tangy and tasty. I loved the beetroot and whipped goat curd starter.

Fabulous Sunday roast sirloin lunch. Gorgeous beef, Yorkshire, roasties, green beans and delicious red cabbage. Could have been hotter, but I like my food steaming hot.

This is one of our favourite locations. The food and service are excellent. However, on Thursday 13th, roadworks outside of the restaurant spoilt our day. I think the those who have booked should receive a text message about this issue.
