Great steaks dinner at Chophouse New Orleans tonight. The crab bisque was to die for. Their Chophouse salad was ok. Our 8 oz. filet mignon and 10 oz. NY strip steaks were cooked perfectly to our orders for them to be cooked to Medium. We actually prefer Medium Rare but our waiter told us they tend to cook on the rare side and our experiences having steaks at restaurants the past few years has been that most are tending to cook Medium Rare to what my wife and I consider to be Rare. Their side dish of mushrooms was delectable. The Key Lime pie for dessert was good. It’s whipped cream on top was very thick and very cold. Decent wine list. I had a glass of Groth Cabernet Sauvignon. And a shot of Angel’s Envy on a rock (the ice cube was about 1.5” x 1.5” x 4”, a mini iceberg😁) before we ordered our dinners. At $18. that’s the cheapest shot of Angel’s Envy I’ve ever had anywhere. Our only nits were: 1) We told our waiter at the end the butter for the loaf of bread was hard as a brick. 2) The bread was like a short baguette, not pre-sliced. My wife asked the server for a knife to cut it and they merely pointed to the butter knife on her bread plate. That was totally inadequate to the task of slicing a loaf of fresh soft bread. Plus, being SF Bay Area natives, we are used to the tang of sourdough bread and a lot of restaurants’ plain breads, while they may be soft, freshly baked and warm, just taste blah to us.

Atmosphere was great. Nice intimate spot. Dim lightening over candle light. On website stated a party of two maximum sit time was a hour 45mins. Kind of jacked up, especially considering our reservation was for 9pm, 2hrs before close. Wait staff was mediocre. They was moving extremely quick trying to clear table as we sat and talked even though we still had appetizers on table. Came by several times asking if we were finished. I had planned on taking mines with me bout after visit number 3 we just allowed them to take it. You have choice of standard steak or Cajun, I’m guessing with Cajun seasoning. We opted for standard. My partner preferred well done but was advised to medium well. Steaks come out. He cut into to his. It was a bit pinker than he like but was ok with it. The char on the steak was way too salty. Cooked great but the excessive salty taste made it hard to eat. My steak was way too salty salty as well. The creamed spinach and fried onion rings were tasteless, no flavor, just bland. My suggestion Cajun may be a better choice just tell them easy on the seasoning or if you opt for standard tell them easy on the salt. I hope they see this so may be some improvements can be made

We went to the chophouse to celebrate a friend’s birthday. First of all the restaurant is beautiful. The service was second to none. The waiter was there every time we needed him, but not in our face. I ordered the bone in filet mignon, it was the most tender steak I’ve ever had. One of the best things was that we brought two bottles of wine and they don’t charge a corkage fee. Overall, it was a great experience and a great birthday dinner.

Food was great, the waiter did great job as well. We had reservations at 845 didn’t eat not get seated till 1030 and the heaters ran out of gas on the patio outside. The hostess was seating people that had reservations after us since they were aggravating her and offering her money.

Terrible service from reservation which was 1 hour late and service from host seater needs some attention. Terrible job of letting us know what was going on and how they would alert us when table was ready. The waiter and food were great after we were finally seated.
