This place is outstanding. Crowded but not overwhelming. Menu is limited, in a good way. The restaurant presents a number of simple and complex options, and everything tastes as fresh as can possibly be. We started with dressed oysters, then a kale salad - both dishes perfectly prepared. Then lobster pasta, and salmon, again extremely fresh. The complimentary table rolls are also nostalgically warm, buttery and seasoned with salt and garlic. I'd only been here for lunch, but definitely coming back for dinner soon!

To be fair, this is based on a Thanksgiving Day luncheon buffet but take that out and insert a normal a la carte menu evening and the scores would be the same. The ambience can't be beat with the giant fish tank (I think a few were angry at me when they saw I had some salmon and shrimp) and, if anything, on a less busy time, already great service might be even better. Selections for the buffet were plentiful, kept hot where appropriate and filled. That prevented the herd mentality that can arise at a buffet not maintained well. They have been upping their game with cuisine over the past few years to where this is worth considering even if you are not planning on touring (at separate cost) the terrific aquarium itself.

We had lunch that is offered the month of December. We enjoyed a very good meal, for a reasonable price, in this pretty restaurant. The restaurant wasn't very busy which should change as people learn that weekend lunch is being served this month.

My steak was very very small and overcooked :( and the mashed potatoes were tasteless. My husbands cocktail was flat. I get it when dining at a hotel restaurant there are going to be rowdy guest but the group at the bar , especially the women were throwing “ f” bombs most of the evening. The valet was unavailable so after my husband waited a good 10min he parked himself. The front desk attendant wasn’t clear where the fireside restaurant was. He may have been in training.

What a wonderful dining experience! The Thanksgiving menu choices were all delicious, well portioned and nicely presented. Our server Zachary was very attentive but didn’t hover. Enjoyed our conversation with him! The hotel ambiance was lovely. We will be back. Definitely recommend!
