Best American Restaurants in Newark

I want to take a moment to express my heartfelt gratitude to all the staff. You truly made my fiancée and I’s night unforgettable. The romantic ambiance was incredibly warm and inviting, creating the perfect setting for a special evening. Although I can’t recall the names of my server and the hostess—who I believe was the lovely blonde lady in the rose shirt—I want you to know how much their efforts meant to us. I was so touched when she reached out earlier in the week to confirm our reservation and to inquire about how I planned to surprise my fiancée with the earrings. Knowing how anxious I was about the entire plan, it meant the world to have such thoughtful support from the team. They truly went above and beyond to ensure that our night was memorable, and it absolutely was! Our server was fantastic as well. He really knew the menu inside and out, providing wonderful suggestions to help us navigate our first experience at the restaurant. We are already looking forward to making another reservation because this place has quickly become our favorite, even surpassing Hyde Park downtown in our eyes. Thank you once again from the bottom of my heart for creating such a calming and beautiful atmosphere for our Valentine’s Day dinner. We can’t wait to return soon! - Nathan H.

New menu at the Granville Inn and it’s really lovely. We particularly enjoyed the new cheese board, the scallop risotto dish and a baked on the spot OH Apple Pie dessert. Restaurant was super busy, but our waitress was very friendly and attentive. In the past it has seemed like some menu items were overdone or trying too hard, but the new menu is refreshed and refreshing. Really enjoyed our meals.

It wasn't too busy for our visit on a Tuesday so it was a quiet place to eat. The food was amazing and the service was just as good. The bill was high, but expected and well worth every penny! I'm pretty sure the steak i had was chosen from the best part of the cow, and could have been eaten with a spoon. Great food shouldn't need a description, just a thank you. THANK YOU!

It was cute- there were no pictures taken of us or anything outside of some decorations and table service. I heard other locations had pictures, music and a bustling atmosphere- so may try a different location another time. The tables had plastic tablecloths and the battery operated candles and they had some decorations. Someone brought in takeout from another restaurant to give to someone working.

Great experience for a Friday night at 7:30. Our waiter Ricky Bobby was awesome !
