My daughter and I decided to switch things up this Thanksgiving and embark on a foodie adventure, and Gyu-Kaku turned out to be the perfect choice for our dinner. We shared the two-person Meat Lovers meal, and it was an absolute feast! The variety and quality of the meats were incredible. Each cut was tender, flavorful, and fun to grill right at our table. The meal included generous portions of beef short rib, skirt steak, pork belly, and chicken, all beautifully marinated with their signature sauces. The dipping sauces added even more layers of flavor, and we couldn’t decide which was our favorite! The sides complemented the meal perfectly—delicious rice, fresh veggies, and those umami-packed Gyu-Kaku salads were delightful additions. The ambiance was lively yet cozy, making it a fun and interactive dining experience for us both. What truly stood out was the friendly and attentive service. The staff made sure we had everything we needed and took the time to explain the grilling process, which added to the overall experience. For Thanksgiving, this was such a unique and memorable way to celebrate. Gyu-Kaku is perfect for foodies, families, or anyone who enjoys interactive dining and high-quality food. We’re already looking forward to our next visit!More infoGyu-Kaku Japanese BBQ - Chicago, IL | West Loop (Union Park)Price: Expensive• Japanese• Downtown / Loop•4.7
- EErickaChicago / Illinois •6 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe went on Thanksgiving and Kevin our server promised he would take good care of us and he did. The service was great and his description of the food was right on. Sometimes servers make recommendations or say something and you're skeptical but we were very pleased. The char grill flavor on our chicken picatta and pork chops was perfect and the vodka margherita pizza was yummy. 10 out of 10 would recommend. Small tip, I guess it was super busy so we had to eat in the cooking school, it was a little bright, less ambiance than the main room. Maybe add some candles and turn down the lights. We still enjoyed our evening.More infoWeber Grill - LombardPrice: Moderate• American• Lombard•4.6

We specifically visited on Tuesday to take advantage of the half price Champagne and $1 oysters. It was unfortunate that by 8pm they had run out of oysters (especially as it was not that busy)....if you are going to have such a promotion you need to ensure customers can take advantage of it. The BBQ was all tasty and sides were good (one of my fellow diners commented that the sweet potato fries were amongst the best she's had). The drinks were also fun...from the cocktails to the whiskey flights! I'm sure we will be back....just hoping they have ample supply of oysters next time!More infoBriny Swine - ChicagoPrice: Expensive• Barbecue• Lincoln Park•4.3
- FfranciafChicago / Illinois •3 reviews5.0Dined on 15 Nov 2024This is my favorite Korean bbq place to go to in Chicago. The quality of meat is superb and delicious. The service is so nice, friendly, and courteous. It’s nice that they help us cook the meat since we have to also tend to our crazy toddler. I love that they have small plates and utensils for kids. The only thing I hope they improve is the amount of condiments. They are a little stingy on these. They should refill these right away. Most Korean bbq places do this automatically and without having to ask. Overall, the place is fantastic and their ventilation system is phenomenal. Will go back again.More infoDaebak Korean BBQ - Wicker ParkPrice: Expensive• Korean• Belmont Central / Cragin•4.7
