Awesome experience. As a wheelchair user they reserved a table in the downstairs bar in preparation, as well as a table in the restaurant. I managed to get up the stairs and were seated early. Steak and ale pie was stunning with accompanied vegetable and baby potatoes, all cooked to perfection. Made our away day of shopping in Edinburgh so special. Thank you !!

A lukewarm reception as I don’t think the gentleman who booked us in and took our menus uttered a single world to us when we arrived. He just collected the menus from their storage shelf and headed for the table. Not to worry though as (spoiler alert!) the food was excellent! It’s also fair to say he warmed up once we were seated and looked after us well. Overall I’d say this was a very enjoyable evening. We went for the Festive Set Menu which is terrific value! The portion sizes were generous too. My wife’s turkey was thick, juicy and flavourful and my Flat Iron Steak was perfect. A five star experience, just a pity about the blasé welcome.
