Amazing food, service and atmosphere as always. We live in London and would give anything to find somewhere like this closer to home. Thankfully, we have family in Newcastle, which means we get to visit Broad Chare several times a year. Thank you for looking after us Broad Chare Team!

Since its relaunch and service of only tasting menus, Six has become one of our very favourite restaurants - which is slightly odd because we usually avoid tasting menus. We had the nine-course menu, the alternatives being a six-course and vegetarian six and nine-course alternatives. One great thing is that, not being oyster-lovers, one can swap out a course that doesn't appeal for a veggie alternative. Service is attentive but without crowding, and friendly rather than stiffly formal, which we like. Every course was a masterpiece in taste and presentation, and we've eaten worse in Michelin-starred places at twice the price. Wine starts at under £30 a bottle, but you can push the boat out and pay far more. So not a cheap place but very good value, and with excellent waiting staff.

Stopped here for Sunday lunch...which was excellent. Service was slow but that was because of a lack of staff in my opinion. It did not spoil the meal though. The beef was beautifully cooked along with large helpings of veg. Lovely pub in a nice location.
