Best Contemporary Indian Restaurants in Southbank

Superb meal with friends on a very busy Saturday night. Despite the restaurant being very busy, the atmosphere was vibrant but not too loud and the service was attentive and not overly formal. We were a large party of 7 and we were looked after excellently by Tanvir who was friendly and attentive, and I noticed the same service extended to other diners. The food was excellent, full of flavour and well presented - portions were maybe a tiny bit small for some but most of us left full and happy. In particular I would highlight the Aloo Mattar Tikki Chaat and the Tandoori Lamb Cannon which were absolute highlights and had us passing tastes round the table. Was a bit anxious about service speed and attentiveness based on what I had read in some reviews, but we had a comfortable hour and a half that wasn't rushed and wasn't slow and that was during possibly the busiest Saturday evening I've seen in London for years, so hats off to the team. Will be back, thanks!

This is our fifth visit. A party of seven this time. The only negative to an outstanding restaurant and service is more vegetarian and vegan flexibility. One in our party was vegan and whilst you added coconut to the chat. No other start we options. Coffee you should keep almond milk.

This. Place is a great find. Set in a grand old school hall, tables are spread out and private. Lovely Ondian food. We had the marinated prawns, the chicken curry, rice and spicy Indian veg and all were fresh and lovely. The staff are so friendly too. Highly recommend

We were warmly welcomed at Chatora by the staff and owner. The service was attentive and the menu recommendations were spot on. We had the tandoor paneer, garlic prawns, butter chicken, and the lamb shank. It was all well seasoned, with rich flavors and generous portions. Our food came out at the perfect pace, and we had theater tickets so that was helpful. What a wonderful dining experience.

We went for the pre-theatre menu and loved it. Perfect amount of food, good variety of options to choose from so everyone at the table ordered different items and we all got to sample a little bit of everything. Great value and would recommend.
