Best Contemporary Indian Restaurants in Upper Lake

This has got to be the best dining experience located in North Berkeley. I ordered the special dinner, which includes a choice of an appetizer, a main dish with basmati rice and a dessert. Great food and worth the value. I would definitely go back to Ajanta and try different things that I missed from ordering off of the menu.

Servers were great, food was great, cocktails were great, but the kitchen was extremely slow. After appetizers we waited around 45 minutes for our entrees. Very surprising since the restaurant was only at ~20% capacity.

We had company for Melbourne, Australia and they loved it! Great food, cocktails and service!

It was amazing as always. The four of had everything we could have wanted. 🎄

Absolutely the best Indian food we’ve had in the United States. We live here. I’d recommend letting the waiter choose foods as we haven’t heard of several of the offerings that were excellent.
