Best French Restaurants in Wheathampstead

Great food and service, and pricing is reasonable for the food and cosy ambience.

The food was good, but for the second time in the last 3 months the service was poor. We were left waiting for 10 minutes to be seen at the door, it took ages for the wine to come, we had to ask twice for the coffees etc. Some of the staff were very nice and apologetic, but some were clearly struggling.

Not been there for a long time and was very pleasantly surprised at the excellent quality of the food. It was a Valentines Day set menu and the food was very tasty and excellent quality They had set the restaurant up beautifully for the evening so there was a lovely ambiance Will definitely return - thanks everyone

This is always a lovely stylish restaurant to visit. Lovely on Valentines night not to have a restricted menu or be told we want your table back in 90minutes which happens elsewhere. Starters of scallops and ham hock were delicious. Mains of steak and duck were very generous. I couldn’t finish the duck , perhaps would have liked another vegetable on the plate. Desserts again, Large! Nice to have the addition of a live singer too.

Really pretty place with the terrace right by the river. Food is very good, tasty and well presented with some interesting flavour combinations such as melon anise sorbet. The head chef came out to deliver the amuse bouche personally and spent time talking to us about produce which was a lovely touch. The only reason I have marked it down is the toilets are upstairs so it wasn't as accessible as it could be However, the staff happily drove the golf buggy round to the front entrance where the toilets are on the same level (the terrace and restaurant are a level down) and then it's a short distance to the toilets. They were also happy to drive the buggy to the car park to deliver less mobile customers such as my mother-in-law so service was excellent.
