- JjohnVIPPhoenix / Arizona •35 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoFirst time at Pinard's and my wife and I had a fantastic meal! We will be repeat customers. Now, for details... We started with the fried artichoke and filet skewers, and we opted for a bottle of the Sokol Brosser pinot noir...delicious! Also, the wine menu was solid. Not overly extensive, but very well curated (IMHO)! For our main, we got the beef bourguignon and filet with au pauvre sauce... The beef bourguignon was the definition of layered savory. FANTASIC! I would go back just for this dish. BTW, the whipped mashed potatoes were amazing, too. The filet was perfectly cooked interior temperature with a proper sear and crust on the outside. The au pauvre was fantastic...just peppery enough with a fantastic kiss of warm spices. The sides also well-seasoned and perfectly cooked. For dessert, we both went for the chocolate mousse. We LOVE chocolate mousse and could not resist the temptation. The good news: the chocolate mousse was a very good pot de creme. The miss...it was not mousse. That said, it was delicious, and the rest of the food was so amazing, as was the service, I stand by my rating. I would only recommend 2 improvements: 1. The mousse is not a mousse, it is a pot de creme. Rename it, or address the recipe. The flavors were amazing, but the consistency and mouth-feel are not a mousse. That said, I would order it again! 2. The theme and vibe is on target. It felt like a quiet, off the main street bistro in Europe. I would recommend a much stronger coffee service. The coffee was "good". To match the 5+ rating on the rest of the food...enhance the coffee service. I recommend French Press...or even a Nitro coffee for when it is warmer, or both Bottom line...I will definitely be going back! The beef bourguignon is a destination dish. If nothing else was served, i would go back 3-4 times a month just for this entree!More infoPinard Wine Bar & RestaurantPrice: Expensive• Contemporary European• North Scottsdale•5

My steak frites au poivre was cooked to perfection 10/10. Complimentary chocolate soufflé for birthday girls was a very nice touch and delicious. Service was friendly and on point. We have been coming to Zinc for years and can always count on them for a perfect evening.More infoZinc BistroPrice: Expensive• French• Scottsdale Quarter/Kierland Commons•4.8
