Best Indian Restaurants in Morton Grove

Usually vey good food. The lentil soup, as always, was excellent, The lamb shank was a bit dry, as was the spectacular Kabul rice, which benefitted from the extra sauce I requested of two busboys who looked at me like I was crazy, but which the waiter, Jorge, graciously suppled. So, foodwise, a strong 4/ On the service side, twas a bit jumbled. The bus boy delivered our main courses before my lentil soup, A language problem was clear, since he understood nothing, and I had to talk to two busboys before I got Jorge;s attention, who removed our main courses and delivered the soup. The busboys also could not describe the characteristics of the two sauces we were served, again accomplished by the talented Jorge. My friend had the lamb Kabob which was excellent, at an ordered medium rare and superbly done. Last, Kabul's excellent Naan is no more, having been replaced by some other bread like dry thing. New management, apparently. A mixed experience. I will go back, loyal customer for many years.

The beets dish was absolutely amazing, sweet and spicy! I enjoyed the “chips and 4 dips” experience as well. The scallop tacos were outstanding, and the biryani had an amazing presentation. The cauliflower was tasty, but surprisingly cold. I would definitely recommend!

Outstanding meal and terrific dishes . Been to Thattu, a few times and note the progress over the years. Reservation made earlier in the day guaranteed us no wait. Alcohol is available with a native twist to the traditional cocktails. Food, Made ideally for the South Indian palate but not too spicy for the average palate and food similar enough to the East African and Caribbean dishes. The menu changes regularly but standard dishes like fried chicken, biryani, and unique fair like Appams(flat leavened pancakes) are absolutely delicious. The thali meals wand vegetarian sides are delicately made. Dessert was a a fried jackfruit cake and and payasam. Both exquisite. Tips built in and shared equally by all the staff. Ambiance is one of a casual restaurant with no airs. Simply laid out large dining room and very attentive staff . All orders are placed on individual phones and the tab can be kept open till the meal is done and gone. Service was quick. Street parking can sometimes be a challenge. A wonderful experience to which we will most certainly return.

The Restaraunt is nice & spacious. The waiters are very accommodating always trying to please the customers. Food was good- Need to advertise more! On a Saturday night there were plenty of tables vacant.. Will return again.! Thank you.!
