Best Indian Restaurants in Gloucester City

Food was incredible. Fresh and flavorful. Our server was kind and knowledgeable as well.

We two shared three dishes, for a small plates light lunch: vegetable pakora, the chicken 65 appetizer, and eggplant (baingan bharta). Each dish was very tasty, offering a slightly different take on similar dishes we've tried in other establishments. The eggplant was particularly memorable. The restaurant is really lovely inside (though today, a cold day, we did get a bit of draft each time the front door opened). Background music was lovely. Service was very competent, but a bit slow, the only downside to a lovely meal.

I love Indian cuisine. The food was wonderful. Thanal Tavern is a fun, casual dining spot for drinks and food with friends. The service was lovely with very accommodating staff. I am a single and frequently meet couple friends. The option for a separate check makes my life easy. Their billing system accommodated my request seamlessly. It was my first time at Thanal and will be a do over for sure.

Second visit, the vegetarian food was better than the meat entrees

The food here is delicious and the portions are large. I have ordered from here many times and will continue to order from here. On the whole, the staff was super friendly. Of note, they do not have Coke products. There was an issue with our order- something forgotten- and one of the staff yelled at another staff member and that was upsetting. The noise level was low except for the same staff that yelled being very loud on the phone.
