Best Italian Restaurants in Louisville

Carol and I had a wonderful meal on our recent return trip to Carelli's! She is recovering from surgery on her foot, so was using crutches and on this icy evening the staff were very helpful in ensuring her safety up into the restaurant and back to the car. We enjoyed the gentle conversational buzz and all the smiles in the dining room and our cozy table by the fireplace. The pacing of our cocktails, salmon carpaccio, salad and lasagna special was perfect and delivered with a warm smile by our server Jasmine. Carol had a Kir Royale and I tried a new (to me) pinot grigio from the Fruilly region - both excellent. The carpaccio is always one of our favorites, and was again, superb. The lasagna and salad special was outstanding (that homemade blue cheese dressing, wow!) - just the sort 'comfort entree' we needed on a cold and snowy evening.

Brought authentic Italians and even they were impressed! Arugula salad needed to be dressed with more care but all of the pasta dishes were great. Our server, Parker was attentive, engaging and funny. Will be back!

Thor was an awesome server. Very kind, knowledgeable, warm and welcoming, and was very versed on when/when not to come by. It made for a wonderful experience for my fiancée’s 29th birthday.

First time here and we will be returning. The atmosphere was welcoming and warm. Our server Delaney was attentive and focused on making our experience excellent. The food was exceptional. From the homemade bread and oil to the chopped salad, my steak and shrimp dinner and finishing with coffee and Frangelico, it was a delicious meal.

Always the best food and service. It is fun to share dishes with the table.
