Best Mediterranean Restaurants in Inwood

Lefkes is an absolute gem! From the moment we walked in, the staff went above and beyond to make us feel welcomed and cared for. Their warm hospitality and attention to detail truly made our dining experience exceptional. Each course was perfectly timed, and they were always nearby, ensuring our glasses were full and that we had everything we needed. The team's knowledge of the menu and their recommendations were spot on, adding to the overall enjoyment. Lefkes has set a high standard for service—I can’t recommend it enough!

First time here. Nice Mediterranean cuisine. Well prepared. Wait staff was mostly Turkish and was helpful in explaining menu choices and recommendations. Bottles wine choices were marked up a little higher than I thought they should be. But that is not a reason to avoid this Mediterranean gem.

Çka Ka Qëllu was fantastic. I can see why it is on the NY Times Top 100 list. It would be perfect if they served some adult beverages, but they don't even allow BYO - I think it is because it is Halal and they want to be all the way Halal. Oh well, when in Albania... The waiter gave us much-needed help in making our choices since Albanian food was new to most of us. The bread they served were fantastic puffy little loaves that we used to eat the savory dips (we tried the sausage dip and the ajavar - red pepper dip). I could have made a meal out of the dips alone. The Mediterranean salad we crunchy and satisfying, but the meat dishes were the best part of all. There were four of us and we ordered four meat dishes: Qofta, Qepaba, Sarma, and Fasul. Qofta were seared patties of veal, onions, crushed red pepper & herbs that were delicious. Qebapa are little sausages made of ground veal with a yogurt sauce. I could have eaten four hundred of these things, but I needed to save room to try the other things. Sarma is stuffed cabbage filled with ground veal, rice, vegetables, and spices. This was excellent. Fasul is simmering white beans, onions, slowly cooked in meat. I loved this - it was like Albanian cassoulet or feijoada. I will definitely go back. I'm making a list people I need to take to dinner so I can have a reason go back often.

What a find!! In a small strip-type mall on River Road in Edgewater, Tosun checks every box. The food is authentic Middle Eastern, of high quality and tremendous value. A four kebab platter for two with sides and bread and bread and salad was just $85 and there was enough left for lunch for two the next day!! It's BYOB, so there's even more savings there. Highly recommended!!

Tavlin is great. Relatively quiet. Food is always fresh and good. It is my "go to" place in Bergen County for a meat meal.
