Thomas Makris, from the Island of Skopelos, fell in love when he met Helen Babalos. They met at Orestes Greek restaurant in 1974, while on a Greek dancing tour of North America. Soon after their marriage, they had a vision to open a place like no other in Vancouver; a Greek restaurant where everyone is family; where everyone receives a consistent experience created by delicious homemade authentic food and impeccable service. In 1984 they opened Anatoli Souvlaki in north Vancouver.     Went for Valentine’s Day dinner 2025. The food and service were excellent. The warm olives (must have if you like olives) and homous were great appetizers and our mains,the vegan calamari dinner and vegan souvlaki dinner, were very good with a bottle of red. Lots of food! The ambiance was nice. We had a cozy table in the back and it was nice and warm in the restaurant on a cold night. The belly dancing was a fun surprise. Our server Spiri (sp?) was excellent. Would recommend.

    Had a wonderful experience at The Greek. Took a friend for her birthday and she loved it! It was an unexpected surprise to see that they still had the Dine Out menu available which was great considering the items we were going to order anyway where already featured. The portions where HUGE and so filling and extremely flavorful. The servers were great and attentive, and we appreciate Katie for taking care of a couple of birthday drinks! Great spot in Yaletown to grab drinks and bites and catch up. Would recommend!!
