Best Seafood Restaurants in Ohlsdorf

One of my favorite places - the service is always welcoming, attentive without being overbearing and requests are attended to quickly. The fish, especially the orata and calamari, is excellent. Liver, something I would never order elsewhere, is also excellent. I find the pasta to be slightly overcooked but perhaps that is in deference to German taste. A good selection of wine by the glass.

The experience started on a slightly awkward note with the front-of-house staff. Both ladies were not very welcoming, and perhaps due to a language barrier, one of them assumed I didn’t have a reservation without even checking. That said once seated I had the best waiter I could ask for! the food was absolutely outstanding. The tartare and fillet were exceptional, and the wine selection was impressive. The sommelier and the waiter truly elevated the experience. The sommelier was friendly and highly knowledgeable, while the waiter was clearly passionate about his work and delivered impeccable service. Their professionalism more than made up for the initial hiccup with the reception staff. Overall Food AMAZING, service AMAZING. I will go back when I am next in Hamburg. Thank you

Menu was a bit limited on a Sunday lunchtime with several dishes unavailable, but the location on the bank of the Alster was delightful. Quite expensive for casual dining, but the quality of the food was high and the service was good.
