We recently celebrated our anniversary at The Keg, and it was an unforgettable experience! The restaurant has such romantic vibes, making it the perfect spot for a special occasion. We ordered steak with lobster, and my husband had steak—both were cooked to perfection and tasted absolutely delicious. A big thank you to our server, Kevin, who was incredibly friendly and attentive. His excellent service made our evening even more special. To make our celebration even sweeter, The Keg surprised us with a complimentary dessert to mark our anniversary. It was such a thoughtful gesture, and we truly appreciated it. Thank you, The Keg, for the amazing food, romantic ambiance, and top-notch service. We will definitely be returning!

I was here for Valentine’s Day 2025 and despite how busy The Guild was the staff were still very accommodating, and went above and beyond. I definitely will be coming back again, the atmosphere, the vibe of it all was awesome.

It's been a long while since I've left a review like this. We've become accustomed to "it was good" so when a GREAT experience comes along, I know I owe the review it earned. From the front door to last goodbye, the cocktails, pop-up appetizer menu, the wine, the mains and the service from an outstanding lady named Jewel everything was exceptional. The extensive and unique cocktail menu was a fun opener and we enjoyed 3 spectacular choices. Love the overreaching print shop theme in drink names. Next up was a one night only, pop up appetizer menu/ desert menu he in conjunction with Salt & Brick. These a-la-carte selections were so so tasty - we had 4 different ones each hard to rank from favourite in down - lots of tied for second. We had the braised rib and the sablefish dish which was mine. It was delicate and so full of amazing flavours that worked incredible together - some charcoal smoke in the fish and cabbage balanced with the miso and citrus- 20/10 and I don't say that lightly. My husband enjoyed the braised short rib and it was big, tender, juicy and flavourful 10/10. I stalled on selecting a wine and Jewels arrived at the perfect moment with a suggestion that brought out the best in both the dish and wine. We chatted with her about the restaurant including the menus, chef and staff. The pride that everyone took in ensuring things were "just so" was evident. The chef beamed from the kitchen when she told him how much we enjoyed the food and she told us how he is so kind and is making the kitchen such a fun place to be a part of. We left with full bellies and felt great about supporting a place that seems to be doing everything right. I just popped a quick Look at the webpage and saw this "We had long wanted to develop a restaurant concept centered around making people feel special." Well I'd say you did it. You can tell Jewel feels it's special and we did too. My husband already has a business meal planned and we will be back. Pure awesome. Thanks Jewels!!!

One of the very few places in Calgary to have met a mark for amazing service and ambience. Food was amazing, they had deals and we definitely didn’t break our bank going there.

The complimentary coat and bag check at the entrance was a thoughtful touch, setting the tone for the evening. The ambiance was further enhanced by a live singer, whose performance added a delightful and romantic atmosphere to the dining experience. One of the standout features of the restaurant is the transparent open kitchen, where we could see the chefs preparing steaks over an open flame. This not only added to the dining experience but also gave us confidence in the quality and freshness of the food. Our server was exceptional. He was attentive yet unobtrusive, patiently waiting for us to finish our conversations before addressing our needs. His recommendations were spot-on, and the dishes we ordered were nearly flawless. The dry-aged ribeye steak, in particular, was a highlight—rich in flavor and truly memorable. Overall, Hy Steakhouse provided a unique and unforgettable steakhouse experience. It was the perfect setting for a romantic Valentine's Day celebration, and we highly recommend it to anyone looking for an exceptional dining experience.
