Best Steakhouses in Madeira

This was my first time at Carlos & Johnny. The ambience was great and the service impeccable. Our server, Cameron, was the best!! We had a group of 5 . We had 4 Petit Filets and one fish dish. For sides we had brussels sprout, mashed potatoes, Mac and cheese, and carrots. I was not fond of the carrots or brussels sprouts. Also, my filet was not very tender. For dessert we had cheese cake, butter cake and Kissed by a rose. All the desserts were exceptional. We were celebrating a birthday and he was sent a birthday cake on the house which was very nice. I would go back, but, I would order the more traditional fare, ie, Freddie salad, baked potato and try another steak. All in all it was a lovely evening and we all felt very pampered by Cameron.

Had an absolutely wonderful anniversary dinner with my girlfriend, all of the food tasted amazing, especially the items beyond their steaks, such as the spicy sausage and chicken. Will be coming again.

Wonderful anniversary dinner location! Could come here for Marsala mushrooms alone. However the Burrata, house salad, ribeye, and charred onion mashed potatoes were excellent! And the butter cake for dessert…just WOW. One of us didn’t have room for dessert but once they tried it …well let’s just say I had a lot of help eating it! Thank you Losanti! Our experiences eating out on January 1 have typically not been good as the chef is rarely on site the day after New Year’s Eve but you folks were perfect!! We will be back…often!

We were a party of 7, and all of us thought our appetizers and entrees were excellent. Our waiter was easy to summon, and fast to respond. It was a little noisy, but it was a Saturday night. Our table was not far from the bar, and there was a Bengals game on, so that both distracted us and accounted for much of the noise.

Great date night! We had the Big Oscar Filet and the Black Truffle Filet for our mains. The mushroom risotto was delicious. The house made dressings on the salads were great. The crab cake napoleon was a wonderful starter. We finished with the carrot cake and chocolate cherry cheesecake cake. Both were perfect finishers. Our waitress was perfect with drink orders and getting our food out at the perfect time. She was very social when needed. The environment was nice and enjoyable. We were able to have a conversation and enjoy our time there. Well worth the visit. Thanks Jag's!
