Best Steakhouses in Yountville

Our food and drinks were excellent. Service was a little slow. Think they may have been understaffed (which is a problem all over). I was pleasantly surprised by the quality of the food.

I've loved Harris' since the 1980s but this was the second meal I"ve had there in the past year where the meat -- which is the main attraction -- was not up to snuff. Two of the three steaks we ordered were slightly overcooked but worse, they were tough and the flavor was flat. Everything else was perfect, but we were disappointed in the meat.

Table side Cesar salad was epic. Big portions so 2 can share one serving. Steak was great and service was excellent and over all and exceptional meal.

Fabulous service and absolutely amazing steaks. I plan to be back for business and personal meals as soon as possible!

You pay a lot, you get a lot: it's a high end steakhouse.The meat is excellent and well prepared and presented. There is the usual range of other stuff and sides/salads etc. if you don't want meat. So check their menu if you are considering but want something besides red meat. The service was also terrific. I have 2 criticisms, which many will take issue with. First, portion sizes are huge, ridiculously (imo) so. I don't get it, although it may have something to do with economics: you occupy a table for 2 hours, so they have to charge more to make it work economically, so they provide huge portions to make you feel it's worthwhile. I suppose that's the American way. Second, it was rather noisy and difficult to hold a conversation at times. This was of course due to the fact that they were packed, even on a Tuesday night, which tells you something. Also, I'm old, so perhaps somewhat aurally challenged. Enjoy.
