- PPJGold Coast •1 review4.0Dined 5 days agoI want to preface by saying we went on what appeared to be a busy night when the team was shortstaffed. I do appreciate that this can be challenging. I don't usually give feedback, but there were quite a few things that took this from what could have been a great meal, to a so-so one. We booked for 5:30pm and arrived 5 minutes after. There seemed to be some confusion with our booking and then had to wait for a while for them to get our table ready. We were shown to a table in the back room which was lovely and perfect given we had our 4 year old with us (4 adults and 1 child). We looked over the menu and when we went to order the waiter was quite rude. He spoke down to us and asked if we had ever eaten there before (this is after we had given our order) and told us we had not ordered enough food and tried to tell us that we had to order more and should also get the Paella. We had actually had a snack at a food truck about 90 minutes earlier so weren't looking for a huge dinner, so my husband informed him, and made it clear we were ordering things that we knew our 4 year old could eat. We also asked for table water which hadn't been brought, which finally arrived around 20 minutes after being seated. The food came out in quite a strange order (guac then ceviche, then corn, then empanda then tostadas) with big gaps between arriving. We had ordered a bowl of chips that my 4-year-old had specifically requested, and at the end of the other dishes we got up to ask about these and they were reordered for us. The waiter said he was not sure what had happened as he remembered repeating these back to us, but did not apologise. Most of the dishes were very good, but the service and lack of apology did let it down. Hope the service improves over time.More infoBig Papi's CocinaPrice: Expensive• Latin American• Coolangatta•4.7

Great service from a smiling and engaging team, great coffee and Brekkie offerings. Nice and modern ambience with lots of light flooding through from the front window.
