Welcome to Zahter! We provide a fresh perspective, flavours and storytelling on traditional Turkish food at Zahter. Our dishes are influenced by Istanbul's vast ethnic heritage and look to history as a source for innovative new finds. Istanbul cuisine reflects a mixture of cultures in which you can find a bit of every flavour.Signature items are derived from the old recipes but revived with Zahter's cooking methods and artisanal sourced produce.Zahter showcases a true Istanbulite cuisine with its rich and vibrant flavours. Our ingredient led menu encompasses finely crafted dishes and exotic tastes around a wood and charcoal oven, and is continually changed subject to seasonal product availability. Paving the way for passion-fuelled, new experiences, chef Esra Muslu skilfully revives and re-introduces artichokes, olive oil dishes, appetisers and seafood. Using fresh ingredients is vital for the taste, hence we source our ingredients from original sources and small artisanal producers.

Took my son for his birthday’s treat. The waitress was brilliant & kind. The food is good but Just a negative thought it’s quite overpriced for a small portion we had.

It was our first visit to Hazev, but it won't be our last. It was one of a very few restaurants in the area open on Christmas Day. The staff was friendly and jolly, as was the atmosphere of the restaurant, with lovely decorations and recorded Christmas songs being played. The Christmas menu was reasonably priced for what was offered, which was a sample of seven starters (humus, tabbouleh, tzatziki, aubergine with tomatoes, filo with spinach & feta, falafel and deep fried prawn) served with freshly baked bread and a choice of one of six main courses. We enjoyed all of the starters. The deep fried king prawn was my husband's favorite and I had a hard time choosing a favorite because I liked them all. We ordered the kofte, which was a generous portion of two skewers of lamb mince and the Hazev special, which was a generous serving of tender, succulent and deliciously seasoned lamb stew on a bed of the most heavenly concoction of aubergine with cheese and bechamel. I savored every bite. For dessert we were served two bite sized pieces of pistachio baklava which made a perfect end to a wonderful meal. Their menu is brimming with other delicacies I look forward to trying. Thank you to the Hazev staff for making us feel welcomed so far from home on Christmas Day.

the staff were friendly and helpful and the food was delicious. while i was waiting for my main course i was given delicious bread and humous. i chose the chicken pide as my main and chocolate cake as my dessert. both were delicious. i was tempted by one of their mocktails, but ran out of time before a matinee at shakespeare’s globe. i’d recommend this restaurant, especially if you’re attending the globe as it’s only across the road.
