- IIOANManchester/Greater Manchester •1 review5.0Dined 1 day agoEasily one of the best dining experiences if not the best in the city. The quality of the food, service and drinks are all on a different level to dining rooms with treble the pricing structure. The friendly, relaxed atmosphere only adds to compliment the exceptional quality of the experience, with the attention to detail high despite the relaxed feel. A must visitMore infoHigher GroundPrice: Very Expensive• British• Manchester•4.8
- JJohnLondon •7 reviews5.0Dined 4 days agoVery friendly, helpful and efficient service in a pleasant venue at the intersection of almost traffic free streets. A fine variety of skilfully produced small dishes from a (sensibly) fairly limited menu. All the dishes were very well done, some exceptionally so. We had beer but the wine list looked interesting. It all made for a very enjoyable lunch.More infoERSTPrice: Expensive• European• Manchester•4.8
- CChrisLondon •7 reviews5.0Dined 5 days agoFriendly welcome at the door, taking care of our wet coats. Waitress (Izzy) was lovely, explaining the menu and looking after us really well the whole evening. Some disturbance from a nearby table, when 2 customers were taking videos with glaring phone lights, was quickly dealt with by the staff. Special presentation of dessert for my birthday, with a complimentary glass of port. A great evening. Thank you.More infoHawksmoor ManchesterPrice: Expensive• Steakhouse• Manchester•4.7
- AAdrianManchester/Greater Manchester •16 reviews5.0Dined 7 days agoFirst time here after reading reviews. We were there on a November Saturday evening and it was full. We had a window table with a good view across the Manchester skyline. Noticed a large outdoor terrace too which would make it a very pleasant place to dine at lunchtime or on a summer evening. Ambiance very pleasant although the music was on the loud side. We're in our 60s and were the oldest diners there - so perhaps we're not the target crowd. Food was very very good. Beef tartare and the Lord of the Hundreds Gougeres were both absolutely divine, but that doesn't take away from the quality of the remaining food either and the prices were very reasonable for a high end establishment. We'll certainly go back. There was much Instagram-ing of food and venue going on from the younger diners! If I had any gripes at all it would be that the service felt a little rushed. It's in the nature of a small plates venue that food comes out as and when it's ready, but we ordered mostly small plates with a main to share and after only about 35-40 minutes we'd bee served (and eaten) everything but the main, so we could easily have been out within an hour, which doesn't really make for a romantic birthday meal (which this was). Also, I was asked when I booked if it was a special occasion so I said it was my partner's birthday. When we ordered a dessert to share it was brought out with a single, very cheap-looking candle in the middle. Like you'd buy in bulk and use on buns at a kids' party. It certainly didn't feel special. In fact we both laughed at the absurdity of it! These were all minor issues though and the overall evening was very enjoyable with some spectacularly-good food.More infoClimatPrice: Very Expensive• Modern European• Manchester•4.6
- AAmandaManchester/Greater Manchester •1 review5.0Dined on 15 Nov 2024This was our second visit to Fold and we thoroughly enjoyed it. Our waiter was a delight and quite funny. He paid attention to our likes and dislikes and the whole team ensured nothing went amiss. The food was excellent, we had slight issue with one course and this was remedied without having to be asked, sign of excellent service. The noise levels are quite loud probably due to the size of the place, low ceiling and the copious amounts of wine being drunk by clients! However this did not deter us from enjoying our evening and we will be back.More infoFold Bistro & Bottle ShopPrice: Expensive• British• Marple•4.8
