About the restaurant

Café Napoli is a family owned restaurant, established in 1989 by Tony and Kathy Pietoso. Quickly becoming a success, they moved the small basement restaurant to a larger location at the corner of Forsyth and Bemiston in the heart of Clayton. In 2003, sons Ande and Kye expanded their family restaurant by adding Bar Napoli, a swank cocktail lounge. A few years later, Napoli Reserve was added onto Bar Napoli allowing for private event space and an additional bar and lounge for the weekends. After years of a flourishing business, Kathy and Tony decided to take their ventures West to Town and Country where they opened their second location, Napoli2, managed by Ande. Kye has taken the reigns from his father and is now the front man for the 8,000 square foot establishment in Clayton. Café Napoli and Bar Napoli have recently undergone a face lift inside and out. Inside the kitchen, Executive Chef from Napoli2 Jon Berger was recently added to the team, bringing fresh ideas and innovation to the regional Italian specialties.

When I opened my doors in July of 2009, I committed to serving the freshest Italian dishes made from local and seasonal ingredients. I learned early the heart of Italian cooking is the flavor…or sapore. My school of teaching was from the best; my Nonna Elena and Mother Lia. Their philosophy has been carried on in my style of cooking: use simple ingredients and the food will speak for its self. Classic Italian dishes grace the menu but are personalized with my unique touch. Quality and consistency is what you will find with each dish. I would never serve anything short of that. So whether you are looking for a memorable night out or a glass of wine with friends, I am glad that you have chosen Sapore. As in true Italian tradition, I enjoy bringing people together through food. Ciao –

Really love this place . Food is always great . Fresh , love the popovers . Especially at Christmas time it’s just very special . My server was Buffy , she is the best . I always make a point to stop by when im in town .

Since 1937, once nestled in the middle of cornfields stands the Smokehouse Market. An unpretentious structure, reminiscent of its days as the market for the surrounding Chesterfield area. The store now houses one of St. Louis's most celebrated restaurants, Annie Gunn's. Within its walls, Chef Lou Rook, III works his magic, creating irresistible cuisine with a sophisticated country life accent. In keeping with the concept of "Foods and wines inspired by the richness of country life", Chef Rook uses the best ingredients and the traditions that are most appropriate to them and imbues them with his own talented creative spin within the rhythm of the seasons. Everything we had was great and the service was excellent. It’s a great addition to the Saint Charles area. Definitely recommend as one of the better restaurants in this region.
