The warm and welcoming ambiance of the historic dining room, and the cozy New England tavern, near Manchester VT, allows guests to relax and enjoy the food, the wine, and the friendly Southern VT hospitality. As a member of Vermont Fresh Network, we support as many local farms and businesses as possible, and our food includes the freshest ingredients. Our cuisine is uncomplicated, and bistro-style. We ate at the Dorset Inn restaurant several times, as we were staying there. Service is always very attentive. Reservations are honored in a timely fashion. Burgers, pastas, salads, specials, etc. were all excellent. The dining room and the pub can be a little more noisy than the large cozy dining room. You can eat at the bar. We have been frequent diners at the Dorset Inn, all times of year and all meals. They have now taken a chain restaurant approach with several servers involved in your meal, not very friendly and with a great loss of ambiance and character. Food prices have also risen with significant reduction in quality.

We love the Dorsey Inn! They never disappoint. We love everything about the place! Staff is wonderful, polite, and respectful. Service and food is top notch. Can’t wait for next time!

We really enjoyed our dining experience at the Dorset Tavern. Melissa was our server and she was excellent, great attention to detail. For starters we had the Dorset bakery rolls. To be quite honest I would skip these, the rolls are not all that special. I have had rolls similar to these and for free when I’ve dined at other places. We also ordered the roasted butternut goat cheese and it was good. For our entrees I had the Dorset burger and my girlfriend had the buttermilk fried chicken. Both of our entrees were delicious. The burger was served with bacon, and cheddar cheese. I also had some sweet potato fries. The burger was cooked perfectly and it tasted very good. My girlfriend really enjoyed her chicken, she said it was fried perfectly, it was very moist. To end the night we had the chocolate pecan pie! I highly recommend the pie. It was perfect.

service was awful had to get our own water then had to go to front desk to have some take a drink order!!! then the food took forever to come 2 tables who came in after us got enteees before we got appetizer one entre was fine the other was cold- the pork tomahawk ( by the way as it was a loin no bone) overall very diappointing

We always look forward to a dinner at the Dorset Inn. Last night's was another exceptional one. We took friends there who also raved about it. The menu is varied and always has something for everyone. I had terrific Roasted Cod, Constant Companion had Salmon, and our two friends each went for the Duck. We were all delighted.

Whenever we travel to Vermont- the Dorset Inn is always our favorite restaurant for dinner. The food is exquisite as well as the atmosphere.

We adore this wonderful Dorset Inn restaurant in VT. A gracious ambience, relaxed elegance, exquisite cocktails and deliciously prepared food. Accommodated difficult food allergies without compromise to the quality of the dishes. Our waiter was charming and excellent (Natalie). Celebrated our 39th anniversary there and hope to return to celebrate 40 !
