   Went to celebrate a birthday and we’re not disappointed. Prime rib was very tasty. Mashed potatoes had an odd flavor, not what we are used too. We started with the salad bar, with many tasty items to choose from so didn’t miss eating the mashed potatoes. And can’t go wrong with the hula pie for dessert. The wait and service teams were friendly and attentive. Was a great experience.

   We've been to this Duke’s location many times over the past 10+ years. This time, we were celebrating our 40th Anniversary. The receptionist and waiter (Chelsea) acknowledged our anniversary and we were seated at a great table right at the front of the dinning area, overlooking the beach. My wife and I both ordered the salad bar (which seems to be very paired down from past experiences ) and for entrees my wife ordered the filet mignon (medium) and I, the fish of the day (Mahi Mahi) prepared with the mac nut & herb crusted sautee. When the food was served, the filet was “well done” (absolutely no pink in the steak) vs the medium which was ordered. Because of the price we were paying and the special occasion, I convinced my wife to send it back. The waiter was very understanding and apologetic, but the meal took 20 minutes to get returned to our table. This definitely put a negative impact on our experience. Ultimately, Duke’s in Kauai has a great location. However, due to this last experience, we'll likely seek out alternative options in the future.

   Duke’s, as always was fabulous! Sheri ? our server was friendly, easy to talk too. She answered our questions about accompaniments to our menu sections. Cocktails were very tasty. Overall a lovely evening at Duke’s.

   We always stop at Dukes the evening we fly out of Lihue to go back home. Been doing this for about 20 years. It never disappoints! Great fish options, nice, well appointed salad station, and pleasant service. The setting along the bay is a perfect way to say goodbye to Kauai for another year.

   If you have never been, please go. It is historical, has good food, and is fun, but it's not what it used to be if you haven't been back in ten years. The olden days of picking up the day's catch and having it cooked "your way" and celebrating an event are over. Still, the food is fresh and tasty, the salad bar gets you started, and the muffins are fabulous. Finish off the dinner with a Hula Pie for everyone. Heading to Cafe Portofino tonight to see what has changed there, but times they are a changing

    We enjoyed dinner last night at Duke’s Kaua’i. We’ve gone to Duke’s Waikiki in the past so it was nice to visit both locations. Bobby was an awesome bartender while we waited on our reservations. It was also cool to find my husbands product in the restroom there. Great experience I’d highly recommend
