   Another great dinner at the Star! We had the Brussels - nice take on what’s become a common side —-this one has pomegranate for a fresh dish that is delicious. The smoked pimento cheese was a generous serving that hit the spot. My friend had the Roma Gnocci (I had it last week). It’s so flavorful and amazing. Not your normal gnocchi, but a large square that is similar to polenta. I had the Cavatelli, it comes with sausage that is broken in to bits and chopped broccolini. The pasta is perfectly al dente. Love that the wine list can be supplemented by a bottle from Planet Wine next door.

   Always a good experience. Packed so service was a little slow but acceptable. Food was great. Drinks good.

   Appetizers, drinks, most main entrees and our server, Andy were great. The ambience is incredible and you feel like you’re at a restaurant in a Hallmark Christmas movie town. However, one of our entrees, the risotto, was undercooked and inedible. We were charged full price for it with no offer to cover an inedible dish - put a damper on an otherwise great experience.

   Fan favorite. You’ll see us here once a week. The Brussel sprouts are a perfect balance of spicy and creamy. Best fries of any NRG restaurant. Get the rib eye with some red wine.

   Another fantastic time at one of our neighborhood favorites! On a cold rainy night, there is no better warm place to dine than Evening Star, with its cozy wooden booths and delicious comfort food. Highly recommend!

   Very tasty food, I had what was on the menu as gnocchi, but was actually a square patty of polenta. It was roasted eggplant on it and a very tasty tomato based sauce. Very reasonable prices for northern Virginia.

   Evening star’s food quality is average. It used to be considered fine dining. Worse yet, they’re very stingy with their wine.
