We booked a table for drinks only so ignore the food stars!
We were given a table by the window then when they read that I’d requested a sofa table we were moved, good!
Just one poor guy behind the bar, he was struggling to serve all the afternoon tea requests and coffees and teas. Obviously we wanted cocktails. We had to wait a while for them. (It was 2:30 in the afternoon).
I had thought that since we’d booked a table we would get table service but no, the guy behind the bar was left on his own to do everything.
There was a very important looking woman walking around with an open laptop in there hand but she was obviously far too important to notice let alone help the poor guy serving us mere customers. Probably had some really important management meeting to go to to discuss how they could get more money out of us.
Having said all that, the cocktails were very good, unfortunately the only table service was me going back and forth from bar to table. By the time I sat down to drink my cocktail it wasn’t at its best. I gave myself a good tip though!
Happy Christmas Falstaff Hotel and give the barman more help and a rise!
