- MMarlineVIPSan Diego •26 reviews4.0Dined 2 days agoThis was our first time eating here and it was a wonderful surprise. The menu has a nice selection of standard Mexican fare and also a lot of creative new Mexican dishes. We both had tacos and all were delicious. As someone who eats gluten free as a preference, I’m very happy when the corn tortillas are hand made on the premises: these were excellent and added a very good flavor to the chicken, pork and shrimp tacos. The guacamole was also very tasty. We didn’t have drinks or dessert and the tab with tip was about $63. We thought it was worth it and will be back to try more things on the menu.More infoSalt + Lime Del MarPrice: Moderate• Mexican• Del Mar•4.5
- HHelenVIPSan Diego •56 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoCame here with another couple that we hadn't seen in a long time. Hadn't been to this specific location in years so it was nice to come back. We were seated within 5 min of our reservation time and was seated on the covered patio (but luckily there were strong heat lamps). We were served right away with waters and bread for the table. We started by splitting a margherita pizza for the table as an appetizer. It was delicious and cooked to perfection. I love that the crust was nice and chewy and was wondering if it was a sourdough crust but it was really lovely. for our dinner we ordered pappardelle carbonara (mine), pesto linguine with chicken (my husband), lasagna bolognese (our friend's husband), and spaghetti (can't recall exactly what my friend ordered but it was something with spaghetti). Everything was delicious! Our friend who ordered the lasagna said it was okay but he would have preferred a bit more acidity in the sauce as he claimed it was "too sweet". We all tried the sauce and liked it so I think it's likely personal preference. My carbonara was amazing! I'm sure it was super fattening but it was so good! the only comment I have is that it was a bit salty (I think from the bacon). My husband loved his pesto with chicken dish and my friend devoured her spaghetti dish. We were offered dessert but we were too full to eat anything else. I am curious if their cannoli's are made fresh as our Italian friend said that you should never order cannolli unless they make it in front of you. (how is that possible)? Definitely a gem of a place and one of San Diego's finest Italian Restaurants. Great place for date night or a double date. The place is small and intimate so likely not the best place for a large group.More infoBuona Forchetta EncinitasPrice: Moderate• Italian• Encinitas•4.7
- AAllisonSan Diego •17 reviews5.0Dined 3 days agoThis place is one of our favorite places to eat. I always love their salsa (great earthy flavor) and chips - they season their chips and it’s so good. We love to start with the eloté spears (they are spicy but that is part of the fun of them!) and then we share any dish that also has the fig molé… it’s the best molé on the planet. Last night we got the chicken enchiladas and added the fig molé. It was much more spicy than usual which took away a *bit* from the flavor because it was a tad overpowering, but it was still really good. To drink I ordered a virgin mojito and it was great. I added some of my own sweetener but that’s just a preference thing. The blend of everything else was perfect. The waitstaff is SO KIND here. They are attentive and accommodating. I am hard of hearing and cannot hear a thing, usually, because ambient noise messes with my hearing aides. But they put us in the less busy side room and even turned the music down (without me even asking!) so that I was able to hear better. I’ve never had any waitstaff do that before and that alone makes me rate this place 10/10.More infoTamarindo Latin Kitchen- Del MarPrice: Moderate• Mexican• Del Mar•4.8
