- KKarenRaleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill •3 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoWe dined here on Christmas Eve. It was busy, but we had a reservation and were seated right away. I had dined here before, but my mom, husband, and 8-year-old had not. First - our server was attentive, patient, friendly - all the good things. Second, the food came out quickly and was wonderful! We enjoyed all small plates, of which my favorite has always been the beets and brussels salad. My 8-year-old loves mussels and scarfed them up - she was very reluctant to share! :) They do have a kids menu, though, and she got the chicken tenders as a kid often will. Also yummy. I love that this place is light and spacious... yes, there are lots of tables and it's a bit noisy, but that just means it's a popular restaurant. I highly recommend this place for any occasion.More infoTandemPrice: Moderate• Contemporary American• Carrboro•4.7
- OTOpenTable DinerDallas - Fort Worth •2 reviews5.0Dined 2 days agoThe Green Valley Grill is just wonderful! We stopped by on our way back to Durham after visiting the Christmas light show at Kersey Valley Farms. I had been wanting to take my husband there after eating lunch with friends on a Greensboro day trip. The food did not disappoint, and the cocktails were some of the best we've ever had. We enjoyed a selection of small plates, and the crab-spinach dip was especially good, with the lovely sharp cheese balancing the slightly sweet crab and fresh spinach. The only hitch is that it was VERY BUSY when we arrived, and we were seated in a remote corner of the bar instead of the main dining room, despite having reservations. No biggie, I've worked in the food industry, so I get it. Our server overlooked us for about 15 minutes, and we got pretty hungry. So, my husband spoke briefly to the GM about getting some food, and then they overwhelmed us with attention and gave us one of the small plates at no charge. This is how you turn customers into loyal patrons. We would drive to Greensboro just to have dinner here -- it's that good!More infoGreen Valley GrillPrice: Expensive• European• Greensboro•4.8

All staff, waiters, servers, other attendants and hostess served the front of the house superbly. We’d met waiter Massimo years ago and make our reservations when we know it’s gonna be his night, and his booth or table. Always cordial and correct, his confidence leads us to perfect choices from the evening’s menu. I’m fond of their duck, but some years they give it a rest and Massimo may propose entrees that now compete for my new fave. My wife enjoys their pork, and her friend usually follows suit. -The kitchen doesn’t rush or delay. They time things and present our meals just right. Seems last night they were especially generous in portion sizes. We split a pasta by three of us, and it was plenty. My half duck had two legs and the polenta was a wedge of baked wonder. -We personally know the pastry chef and never know which treat to select. This visit we all tried the cannoli and the silky sweet fillings were so satisfying. -For last night we took a later reservation and closed the place down. Not a problem with them. -Happy birthday to my wife, Merry Christmas to all, and ditto new year. Thank you. Or, -Buon compleanno a mia moglie, buon Natale a tutti e idem il nuovo anno. Grazie!More infoIl PalioPrice: Very Expensive• Italian• Chapel Hill•4.7
- RrobertVIPRaleigh / Durham / Chapel Hill •21 reviews4.0Dined on 18 Oct 2024Had reservation but ended up sitting in bar area high top where it was louder than normal due to some baseball fans really into the game. We liked the Octoberfest specials: good beer and the roasted apple kraut was outstanding. Overall was fine but would have preferred to have been seated at a regular table upstairs especially now that reservations are more or less required if you don't want to wait an hour on the weekend.More infoCarolina Brewery - Chapel HillPrice: Moderate• Southern• Chapel Hill•4
