Located on Charleston's Upper King Street, Indaco (Italian for "indigo") serves rustic Italian cuisine. Wood-fired pizzas, hand-crafted pastas, housemade salami and cured sausages fill the restaurant's menu which can be enjoyed family-style or a la carte. With community tables, an open kitchen, and a comfortable atmosphere, Indaco can accommodate 100 guests for a casual night of food and drinks. The wine list is focused on affordable Italian varietals, the Negroni cocktail is on tap, and the fresh sodas are made in-house. The massive wooden doors on Upper King Street are your first indication that Indaco is different from the typical Charleston restaurant. Rustic details continue inside with butcherblock tables, lime-wash walls, and white brick. An open kitchen with nearby community tables lets interested diners keep an eye on the action inside the kitchen. Outside, a patio puts you streetside to watch Upper King Street's vibrant nightlife scene.

Everything was great. We had a couple cocktails. I had the filet mignon and my husband had the crabcake. We then decided to get the dessert that had some chocolate and whipped cream, but I don’t remember the name of it. Everything was delicious and our server was super nice

Our experience at Virginia’s on King was 5-Star. Since it was Thanksgiving day and really nothing open, we ate both breakfast and a late lunch at VOK. We were very impressed with both services and the food quality. The menu was very broad which allowed us to try something different at each seating. The service was even better than the food quality. Tim was honestly one of the most attentive and friendly waiters I have ever experienced. If you are traveling to Charleston make sure to hit VOK and request Tim.

This was our first Thanksgiving dining out. I have to say that the experience exceeded my expectations. No longer will I assume that I'm the only one that can make the very special Thanksgiving meal! Seriously though, we were seated promptly at our reservation time, our waitress was delightful and her service excellent. Best of all, for purely selfish reasons, the family thinks this should be our new tradition and I didn't spend the day in the kitchen. Definitely a winner !

We just came back from two weeks in Provence and wanted to relive a culinary experience. And we did. Food was delicious and quite authentic. Our server Tammy was lovely. I enjoyed the salmon whilst my wife had the short ribs. Both were tasty and much satisfying. Of course one must start with a French 75 cocktail. Truly an exquisite evening.
