Best Casual Restaurants in Dayton, Kentucky

We had lunch reservations for our 47th anniversary. We were immediately seated on arrival, and promptly greeted by our server Mark. He was happy to be part of our celebration, and shared his favorite recommendations on the menu. So many choices! We had spaghetti with Sunday Sauce, butternut squash ravioli, veal cutlets, salad wedge, freshly baked bread, and of course, wine. Everything was delicious. We were in town for my daughter's graduation from NKU and spent a lot of time online for a nice restaurant that would accommodate 8 people. After a long search, we were fortunate to have find Shires' Rooftop. Our table was ready as reserved (although some of our party was a tad late due to downtown parking and inclement weather). The atmosphere was perfect, the food was excellent, and our server Mara did an excellent job taking care of our needs. She checked un us at reasonable intervals without being overbearing. She anticipated our needs (that were normal for a party of 8). If were in the area again, we'll certainly dine there. I would suggest reservations if you are dining there and be aware of crowded parking in the downtown area.

We had a great meal at Rosie’s. The food was delicious featuring all scratch made pastas and sauces. The service was outstanding as was the atmosphere. I would highly recommend giving Rosie’s a try. I definitely plan on eating there again soon.

We had a party of 9 and seeing a show right afterward so it wasn’t lost on me that we would be a challenge. Our experience could not have been better…each family member raved about their dish, the pace did not feel rushed, and our server could not have been more attentive. The Steak and Frites deserve a shout out along with their house made pasta.

We had a delightful and delicious meal celebrating my friend who had just narrowly escaped a devastating house fire. Our server was lovely, and it was our host Allison that made the night even more special with her care and conversation. She was there to support her staff and made us feel valued and cared for every step of the way. Thank you, Nada!!
