"THE STORY Our story began in 2018 when lifelong friends and business partners Daniele and Eduardo spotted an opportunity to bring ‘la bella vita’ to busy Londoners. Using Daniele’s Italian Nonna and her traditional recipes as inspiration we embarked on a mission to bring the best fresh pasta dishes in London town! Our pasta is freshly made daily with zero zero flour from Italy and it is combined with egg, water, and salt. Our sauces are made in-house with Nonna’s love using the freshest ingredients sourced from Italy and our UK homeland. Nonna’s dishes are finished with a sprinkle of Pecorino or Parmigiano Reggiano cheese depending on preference and tradition and of course, the pasta will be always cooked al dente, Nonna’s way!"

A favourite of Clapham Junction's Northcote Road since 1990 - an awfully long time in the London restaurant scene - Osteria Antica Bologna is as fresh and thrilling an Italian restaurant as the day it first opened its doors. It conjures up images of hidden away village osterias in the wild countryside of Emilia Romagna or the rolling hills of Tuscany, its cheerful welcome befitting of an old family favourite. Chef Marzio Zacchi passionately believes in using fresh, locally sourced and seasonal produce having grown up in Biella in the Piemonte countryside surrounded by a family who reared chickens, grew veg and cured their own salami. A grand old dame of a pub in the centre of Herne Hill and opposite Brockwell Park. In the front, we are large, light and airy around our central island bar. Out the back, we have our large decked garden, with some shade. To eat, we serve traditional pub food with a modern approach. We go for product quality over marketing for our draught and bottled beer collection and have a range of rotating ales. Dog friendly, date-night friendly, spot of food and then drinks for a celebration friendly, bring your folks for lunch when they are visiting friendly. You get the idea - we are quite friendly.

Jazu is a Hi-Fi Cocktail bar that offers serious drinks and music, with a host of top-class food pop-ups and kitchen residencies. February sees a month-long residency by GrillBird, serving a menu of yakitori & small plates, chef Ben Smith (previously at Quality Chop House) adopts a no-waste ethos, using every part of the bird (sourced from Fosse Meadows Farm). There's Homemade Shokupan - a light and fluffy Japanese milk bread - served with Miso Butter; crunchy-coated Karaage chicken with hot maple syrup; and a menu of yakitori skewers. For something sweet, there's Mitarashi Dango, a traditional Japanese rice dumplings licked with a sweet soy glaze, served w/ black sesame whipped cream.Next up is Chef Dan Chambers (Head Chef at Bambi. Brunswick House, 10 Greek St) with a New-Wave French Bistro menu that blends classic French techniques with global influences, reinventing the traditional bistro with a fresh, modern approach. Dan is in the kitchen for three weeks, 5 - 22 March.

    This was one of Trinity's seasonal "Wine Dinners", in which Adam Byatt and his stellar team provide a tasting menu, accompanied by well-chosen guest wines. This is not like your standard restaurant visit, because it involves getting to meet and talk with Adam, his team, and the wine people; and the entire atmosphere is wonderfully warm and convivial. You also get talks about the dishes and wines on offer, and to see the team working in the kitchen, producing and carefully plating the dishes. Oh, and the food? Well, anyone who has ever visited Trinity will be unsurprised to hear that it is always superb. Adam uses many classic ingredients together with a few more unusual ones, and produces dishes just bursting with flavour. He has that knack of combining flavours so they absolutely sing in the mouth in perfect harmony, without ever being overpowering or losing their individual notes. Highly recommended.
