Dahoam Wir verstehen uns nicht in erster Linie als Restaurant, sondern als Gast-Haus. In unserem Haus kann sich der Gast so wohl fühlen wie daheim und so gut speisen wie in Mutters Küche. Kaum ein Berliner, der uns nicht kennt. Kaum ein Gast, der nicht gerne immer wiederkommt - seit bald 20 Jahren. Denn wir sind eine Oase österreichischen Wohllebens inmitten preußischer Askese. Wir haben uns in den Kopf gesetzt, für Essen Zeit aufzuwenden, bei der Zubereitung wie beim Verzehr. Bei uns wird noch kompromisslos mit der Hand gekocht, nach den klassischen alpenländischen Rezepten. Schmeckt hier ein Schnitzel noch nach echter Butter? Eine Rindssuppe noch nach Rind? Ein Semmelknödel wie aus Omas Kochtopf? Dreimal Ja. Und auf einen edlen Tropfen Wein direkt vom österreichischen Winzer nicht verzichten. One of the best austrian cuisines in town. Excellent wines and beers. Very small and cosy place with an oven in winter and a see-and-be-seen terrace on one of Berlin's busiest gay streets in summer. And now with a first floor - the Belle Etage - with two extra rooms.

I had a lovely time at Restaurant Patrice. The wait stuff was welcoming and efficient and the place is really cozy and sweet. The food was lovely. A couple of minor improvement points to food and experience: 1) while the oysters were deliciously freshed, I was disappointed that they were not fully schucked (i.e. removed from the inner clam). 2) they had a special asparagus-only menu; then when i asked for the other items, the waitress had to read them all out to me.... seemed odd to not have another version of the menu. 3) steak was cooked to perfection, but lacked seasoning - this was improved with the side of jous - so keep that in mind. All in all a pleasant place, and I'd be back if i'm around the area.
