Each plate is thoughtfully crafted to evoke the way Thanos’ grandmother cooked, inviting guests to explore the Greece he grew up with through food, art and music.Meant to mimic an open market, the room is built of white concrete blocks creating an effect similar to the stucco seen throughout Greece. Mamakas is a nod to heritage, history and family memories – the daily trip to the market for ripe and fragrant tomatoes. Visiting a trusted butcher for fresh paithakia, and the local fish monger for the daily catch.Recipes passed down through generations. Honest Greek fare with a modern twist. Designed to share. Everything just as Thanos’ family has done through the ages.

Michelin doesn’t disappoint. DaNico would be my top recommendation if anyone would like to try modern Italian in Toronto. A good contrast between textures and flavors. E.g., crunchy pine nuts against tender raw tuna; sour enoki against vermouth sauce. The execution of the cod and beef preserved the tenderness to perfection, thereby highlighting the quality of the ingredients. Service was outstanding too. The staff was both knowledgeable and personable.

Another incredible experience at Daphne!! I went twice in one week during my trip to Toronto and it could not have been more perfect. I stopped in for lunch and thoroughly enjoyed the tuna carpaccio, seafood pasta, and truffle fries. Michael, Amanda, and Lou were so attentive and friendly. I can truly say Daphne has been the highlight of my trip! What an amazing start to the new year!

It was my first time trying plant based restaurant and I really enjoyed each dish. We tried burrata, pappadelle and white truffle agnolotti and finished off with sweet potato cheesecake. They were delicious and all staffs were very kind and attentive. Definitely going back!

The service and ambiance was great. Notable dishes were the challah and fluke and fennel. The fries were perfectly crispy and the broccoli was very flavourful. However, the ribeye was average, it lacked flavour but cooked properly yo medium rare.

I love Burdock, the beers are so great and the space itself wonderful. The service was really lackluster, a trend I'm seeing throughout the city these days unfortunately (but maybe understandably) - no enthusiasm, not consistent, not checking in if the food is good or if we have everything, a general "oh yeah you're still here" vibe. Not something I've experienced at Burdock before and was really excited to show my friend from out of town. Overall a fine, just fine, experience.
