In 1688, Joseph Haviland built a tidewater gristmill that provided the locally-grown grains to a nearby bakery that supplied farmers and tradesmen with bread. It was the first public oven in New York State. Haviland’s Old Grist Mill and the public bakery were community gathering places for two centuries. Inspired by Joseph Haviland’s noble efforts, the Haviland Kitchen & Bar has been established for our neighbors. Moneybag pasta special was outstanding! The chicken scarpariello country with the sausage was delicious and an incredible portion of food. So happy to have leftovers. We love Fabio's! Always a wonderful evening at this neighborhood gem.

I always enjoy coming to Dunns River. The music is good, the food is amazing and it’s the only sit down Caribbean experience that is top tier compared to the normal hole in the wall establishments with the plex glass separating the customers. Home run for date night. My only wish is that the music isn’t so loud all the time. It’s so hard to have a conversation. I stayed away from Friday & Saturday and picked a weekday date night thinking it would be a quieter background noise kind of night. Nope. We were still shouting at each other. After our meal we ending up walking around in the rain so we could hear each other lol. Something to consider for management maybe.
