Reservations accepted for dinner only.Fifty eight years ago, Elaine and Pierre Boissiere established their eponymous restaurant at its current location, years before Carmel Plaza shopping center was built around it. They sought to offer the city of Carmel-by-the-Sea a relaxing and comforting venue modeled after a European chateau where tables are thoughtfully spaced and fresh flowers, fireplace, candles and soothing musical notes are integral part of the dining experience. The ambience sets the tone for French country food served with a great deal of care for detail and pastries baked daily on premises. It is a testament to their far sightedness that Patisserie Boissiere Restaurant continues to fulfill their vision to this day.

Grasing’s is a gem. This was our first time eating here and we will come back anytime we are in Carmel. The dining room is a beautiful, comfortable, quiet space. The service fun, attentive and professional and the food extremely good. The wine list is extensive and well chosen with a nice selection of half bottles. There was also an excellent selection of wine by the glass. We enjoyed our time here so much that we decided to move to the bar after dinner for a night cap and the bartender made that a fun way to end our evening. Give Grasing’s a try. You won’t be disappointed.

This restaurant is always delicious! It’s a meal like going to your French or Italian grandmas table. Homey, comfortable, welcoming, and dependably delicious! We have taken all kinds of people there from all different backgrounds and taste. Not one has had a critical thing to say! The Frisch onion soup is among the best ever! We were celebrating our anniversary last night and they actually cared and without telling them, brought us a special dessert and wished us happy anniversary. That’s rare these days! Charming and delightful!

Soufflés aren’t only for dessert!!!!! Savory lunch done as a soufflé is magical. The borscht soup was incredible as was the salad and the stars of the show were the Garlic Soufflé and Mushroom Soufflé both striking to the eye and tummy. With only 16 seats you feel special with owner Lisa at your side as your host for lunch. This is Carmel hidden lunch gem.
