Fergus spent the majority of his life as a passionate home chef, until his late 20's when stepped into a professional kitchen for the first time. He quickly got hooked on the buzz of a busy service, but also to need to explore and experiment far more then what is practical in a typical restaurant. Toward the end of 2019 he decided do induce his own baptism of fire, by launching a supper club serving a taster menu of experimental dishes in his home town. Alkemio is actually the Esperanto spelling for alchemy, Esperanto was a language that was constructed out of the world's languages and had no real home. Fergus aims to take inspiration from cuisine across the world, combining ingredients, flavour profiles and formats in ways you have not seen before, all the while elevating each dish with technique and presentation to make it unforgettable!

Growing up in Iran, where every single meal is a feast and our gatherings are based around vibrant and plentiful dishes. I fell in love with the art of Persian food which was nurtured, with age old recipe passed down through the generations. To this day I mostly make Persian food and my heart will always be there. After a 20 year career in teaching, it wasn’t easy to completely switch paths to give my passion a go, but after my first supper club in 2014, and a lot of encouragement from so many, I knew it was the right path. Since then I have enjoyed being a tv chef, working in Michelin star restaurants and writing for food cookbook. But my passion for health, the art of cooking, and creating community and a society which brings joy and change to peoples lives is still my main drive, and I feel that my supper clubs really nurture that desire and make me a very happy chef :)

Beautiful restaurant in the heart of Covent Garden. Great decor and atmosphere- cosy and comfortable. Set lunch was very good and excellent value. It was very busy and thus initial service was a little slow, but otherwise excellent, and no pressure to finish/leave (our booking was 2.00pm). Would definitely return.

Another excellent dinner at this splendid establishment. Their signature duck is the best peking duck we've had in London. We were a table of 4 and easily demolished a whole duck between us. Very grateful to the staff who allowed us to exceed our alloted 2 hrs dinner time as one of our guests was late.

We we’re a table of 4 and we had 3 season menu’s and one classic menu, we had the most fabulous food, we enjoyed every single dish that came out. However we were getting very annoyed by the service. We felt as if we had to be rushed and during a meal it is very unsatisfying to have staff remove an empty glass. We felt as if the staff were waiting to do anything and eyeballing the second we put down a knife or fork. We understand that everything is time sensitive, but we had no chance of even dipping bread in the sauces, because the plates were taken away the very next second. We ate very slow so we had the chance to finish the wine paired to the dish, otherwise we would’ve eaten a 7 course meal in an hour. So as the food was excellent, the service could be little calmed down, so diners can finish their glass of wine without it being taken away the second they think its empty while eating. We do recommend this restaurant as it was so delicious, only we do recommend telling the service staff to take their time. Thank you so much for a great experience

Outstanding food, service, ambiance. Classic British food, nose to tail, simply but exquisitely prepared. We started with olives and roasted bone marrow, a favourite we order whenever possible, and this was the best we’ve ever had. Accompanying parsley salad was flavourful crunchy and fresh, perfect accompaniment along sourdough toast. For mains we shared grey mullet, grilled shorthorn, white asparagus, green salad and a sublime braised mutton. Everything was superb and we were quite full but couldn’t resist dessert. Both the lemon posset and date loaf with butterscotch sauce were incredible and we ate every last bit. Service was low key excellent and very helpful as we ordered wine by the glass having over imbibed over the weekend and server recommendations were perfect.
