Chef Sebby Holmes launched Farang back in 2016 after trading at street food markets throughout London. A year later he took up temporary residency in Farang's current home in Highbury & Islington. After excellent reviews, he took on the space permanently after his step-father retired and since, has gone from strength to strength. Farang was recently inducted into the National Restaurant Awards top 100 and awarded a MICHELIN Bib Gourmand, which we have kept four years running.     I’ve had a lot of steak in London, but this one? Easily the best. The Highland sirloin was cooked to perfection—that 2001 R. López de Heredia Viña Tondonia Rioja? Stunning. Aged beautifully, balanced, and a perfect match for the steak. It wasn’t just the steak—the entire set menu was fantastic. Service was friendly and professional, but there was a small hiccup with the bill. OpenTable’s wording made it seem like I had already paid in advance, so I was caught off guard when I was presented with the bill. I asked the waiter, and the manager came over to clarify that I hadn’t actually paid yet. They were completely right, but OpenTable’s phrasing could be much clearer. All that aside, this was an outstanding meal, and I’d absolutely go back—especially for that steak and Rioja.

    We always have a great time at Lore, the staff are really friendly and make you feel welcome even though they are rushing about they still take the time to talk to you, food is outstanding and the service is amazing, booked in for Sunday roast in June and December.
